Does 'low Stock' Always Mean There's No Stock Available in Kmart?

Every time I go to do click & collect or just shop in store, any item that says low stock is actually out of stock. Do they just say it's low stock so you continue to buy the other items in cart or come into the store to buy other crap you don't need?

Prob the former - but one of the staff said last time that laybys or other holds don’t take items out of stock so it’s just perpetually low.

kmart is pretty bad, head over at night, it's like a bomb has hit it. stock is always low stock. it's a great way to get free shipping on anything, just find something low stock, prolly get cancelled.

during covid I wanted bubbles for the kids and an air fryer. took me 3 times to get the air fryer, but each time they sent me bubble mix and random books for free

I've found that whenever Officeworks says "Low Stock", they don't seem to have stock either. Same parent company as KMart so that might explain it!

Stock control at Kmart is practically non-existant. I would probably interpret as "no stock". The literal meaning is that their inventory system says they have stock, but it's gone below some threshold where they've determined that probably means it's either walked, been damaged, or is otherwise not findable. You might get lucky, but probably won't.

Low stock means there is either low stock, no stock or an abundance of stock. In stock and out of stock mean the same thing as low stock. Their website is a poor indicator of whether they have stock.

Even their instore system, which has different information to the website, is not close to accurate and the staff have to guess why they have no stock of something when it says they have 15 on their system (plot twist, it doesn't seem to be theft) and guess at stores that may actually have stock.

  • Sometimes it means there's stock out the back.

No, I’ve successfully bought stuff that is low stock either in store or via click and collect. It’s a bit hit and miss but can be can be accurate.

Sometimes the stuff is VERY had to to find. I was looking. for a specific sheet set once and it was behind a few packets of another set not where it’s label was on on the shelf or even near it. So I suppose it depends how badly you want it.
