Lenovo Order Delays

Anyone else experiencing extreme delays on Lenovo ?

Ordered an X1 Carbon Gen 9 mid April. It had a couple of options, so not the vanilla variant.

Originally said 6 weeks shipping at checkout, so end of June. At the time the 'in-stock' variants were saying 4 weeks shipping.
Two weeks ago it said July.
A week ago it said end of September.
Today it says end of October.

Manufacturing supply chain totally broken for Lenovo, or just me ?

I checked x1 Carbon Gen 10 and it says 8 weeks + now which could mean anything.

    Global supply chain very broken, have you not seen the price increases everywhere? Things not going to stabilise for some time.
    Ports cant unload the ships in a timely manner, which means their onward journeys are impacted, resources cant be moved around easily, covid outbreaks impacting workforce /manufacturing etc.

    I get packages from China every second week, I assume its a parts and production issue rather than shipping finished products out

    Wondering if their factories have been specifically impacted by the city lockdowns

    All vendors are having problems with supply chain issues and component shortages.
    We're seeing 4-5 and 10-12 month ETAs on enterprise switching from vendors like HPE, Juniper etc (depends on the model)
    Commercial notebooks from HP having 3-4 month leadtimes. Their docks have been virtually impossible to source this year. HPE had to stop sales of whole series of array controllers in their servers because the logic chips that run their SmartArray controllers are impossible to get hold of.

    It's a mess that doesn't look like being resolved anytime soon.

    last laptop I ordered from Lenovo also took very long.

    order placed on 6/Sep/2021
    shipping confirmation on 23/Oct
    DHL received item on 25/Oct
    Delivered on 29/Oct.

    almost 8 weeks. I don't quite remember the ETA showing on Lenovo website, I think it was showing 6 weeks.

    ordered for school work, end up had it just before holiday start lol

    Ordered one of the latest i7-12th Gen Yoga 2in1s on 31st of March.
    From memory the only variation to the "6-day delivery window" option was I changed it to windows-pro.
    They extended the expected delivery every 1 week or so.
    Eventually got a shipping notification from China on 12th of May
    Arrived 24th of May
    (I forgot to check if it had a numeric keypad, now deciding whether I can be bothered selling it just to get a numpad)

    Ended up cancelling the order and buying a different model during Click Frenzy, ended up with a better deal anyway.

    My advice would be not to make major hardware changes to base configurations at the moment, or expect delays. Stick to off the shelf configs.
