Cinema Ad and Trailer Length

Hi community.

My wife and I have the day off Thursday to enjoy a much needed date. We have a 2yr old so this is rare space and time.
We were thinking of going to the cinemas which would mean a slightly later child care pick up depending on cinema ad/trailer times.

Does anyone remember how long it takes before the movie starts playing? We haven’t been to the cinema since pre covid.

Update
Thanks everyone for your helpful comments. The movie started 17m after the stated start time, and a quick google search told us the credits were 7m with no important content at the end.
We had a great time, and appreciate the help.
Cheers

Film starts 15 minutes from the schedule time.

This has always been the case for me.

Though I can't even remember the last time I watched a movie in the cinemas let alone the trailers.

I hope you have a good much needed date off friend ;) hah see what I did there.

      • Thanks for your pun-ctual reply

That depends on the cinema, their commercial ad roll list, movie preview list and what movie class you go to. I believe Gold Class has fewer ads than others.

There's no set time but you can call and ask for the specific showing you want.

I tried calling but they don’t take calls at village cinemas- just prerecorded answers

    • Also, it’s cinema Europa (no idea if that makes a difference)

I've sat through 25 mins of ads and previews at a major cinema chain for a popular new release movie. It will be less for a smaller cinema or an older movie.

    • Woah 25m is brutal. Was released mid April so positive signs.

  • I also suggest you call the cinema. They can tell you the start/finish times. And since the movie ends after the credits, you'll save a couple of minutes not sitting through the credits.

Unfortunately won’t have time to drop in before then

  • Back before the internet I used to look forward to all the movie trailers. Now that I can access any trailer online I don't give a damn, haven't sought out a trailer in like 15 years. What was your question again?

      But why male models?

Remember to minus the time for the credits, which can easily be 5-10mins

Turns out you can search this on the internet. Hello 7 minutes - with no content post credits!
      Great point, thanks

  • What's the start time of next movie in same room?
    .

    • I couldn’t find this on villages website. Movie is Thursday so possibly not available yet?
