Cheapest Legitimate Microsoft Office (2016+) (Non-Subscription)

After upgrading my computer my trusty 2013 Microsoft Office was deactivated and Microsoft won't allow it to be reactivated (too many computers) and phone reactivation no longer works for 2013.

I have access to my uni email address, though can't use the free office 365 as apparently that is disabled for my uni. Not sure if there are any other education options I could take advantage of.

I don't really mind what version it is, 2016+ would be preferable. I don't really want to get one of the cheap 'legit' volume licences, but don't want either to pay hundreds for software that has not changed in years. It'd be great if it could be used on multiple computers.

I am not interested in any 365 version with a subscription.

Anyone know where legit versions can be obtained?

  • I think this is legit, but would be interested to know if it wasn't. It has worked well though. I'd also be interested to know if there was something better out there. (I typically use a uni account but it has a device limit I think).

Not legit. Sold by nerdused, random third party seller on the platform. Same as the $1 eBay keys just 50x the price.

      • Yeah, I bought it, and tried to activate it, Microsoft support told me to get a refund. It's software made for their engineers to debug.

  • Getting the family 365 pack and sharing it with five other people is still pretty good value. You can get 12 month codes for $100, so that's $16.66 per person. Each person gets all the Office apps, the mobile versions of them, and 1TB of OneDrive storage which is probably enough space to backup everything you do on your PC, letting you access it all from the cloud on your phone whenever you want.

    I'll at least start - RRP is $199 for Home & Student 2021 - https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/microsoft-365/p/office-home-…

    $155 at https://www.saveonit.com.au/product/microsoft-office-home-st…

It'd be great if it could be used on multiple computers.

I don't think you'll get this, since the licensing has mostly moved to 365…

If you connect through to a real person with the phone activation you can normally get them to activate. I've done it successfully a year ago.

    • Unfortunately Microsoft have literally stopped the phone activation for 2013 so I can't do this sadly.

      • Yeah, you have to do it via chat, it's not a big deal though.

  • If it's for personal use You can sail seven seas to an island that starts with a 'R' and ends in 'it' to bypass what those crooks are selling it for
