Normal economy flights for that route are about $2,000. BA currently $2,150 for those dates.

Are you happy to piss away $5,000 for flights that are over relatively quick?

If so, it's not too bad a deal for Etihad flights. Thai Airways and Lufthansa are $6,500 though longer flights. Depends what you're after really.

If you got the money go for it. Airlines can't survive on only economy fares.

  • Not sure if it's a good deal but I think Emirates offers better service but I like the tv screen on Etihad, if you can get Qatar ticket try Qatar, I heard they offer the best business class.

Pretty standard sale price for low season, I think you are doing well to get it for those dates though.

  • Qatar beats all the above, but prices seem to have sky rocketed… I managed to book QATAR Melb to Heathrow for $6900 back in November last year, but seems hard to get it under 10k for the rest of the year now.

  • I managed to score Etihad Business Return from Singapore to London for AUD$2900 for flights in June. Albeit I did book this in March. Had a mate score Sydney to LHR for 4k though on Etihad but was legit 1 seat left so not sure if it was cheaper before that. I reckon flights aint gonna come down in price anytime soon since people are clamouring to travel. For the holiday season I reckon you may be doing alright with that.

  • I wouldn't fork out for a business flight personally, if it was my work then yes.

Points have been my go to previously, haven't had an economy flight in 5 years (admittedly 3 of those have been covid).

  • Can you offset with points OP?

Otherwise, if you're rich enough, go ahead.
