[eBay Plus] Baseus Type C USB HUB 11-in-1 Dock $63.99 Delivered @ Baseus Official Store AU eBay

280
PLSAVE20

Saw a cheap dual monitor dock for another WFH setup using a work laptop and came across this. (yes, that means I can use all 3 screens).

A bit of a bargain using the code, bringing it down to $63.99.

I also see that the code also applies to their other docks in the same listing, but all of them only support 1 monitor out.

5 IN 1 $34.39 with code
8 IN 1 $39.99 with code
9 IN 1 $47.19 with code

Using this atm. Highly recommend as everything just works. Bought it for lot more. This is a very good price. Haven't tried 3 monitors but two definitely works.

    4k 30hz only it seems

4K HDMI: Supports 4K@30Hz HD Display

this is the biggest draw back

Do you know if it has a higher refresh rate if the screen is only 1080p etc?

      • It should be able to do you to 120hz given the monitor supports it.

    • If you're going to use this with the MBP, you can connect the MBP directly to the monitor using USB C. And use this for everything else.

This is what I do because it saves all other ports of the laptop. Also, any other laptop that has multiple USB C ports with at two lanes should be able to do this as well.

      • I'm sure there are other cheap type c hubs if you just need it for peripherals.

        • The problem with cheap Type C peripherals is always that, they're cheap. If I've spent a few grand on a laptop, I'd prefer to buy a better quality peripheral as well. But everyone is free to make their own choices. That said, Baseus is ok.

@mhaqs: I'm not alking about cheap quality products. Why pay more for a usb hub with video if you're not gonna use it? Plenty of quality type c hubs under $20

    Compatible with MBPM1?

    • +2

Yes. Using MBP 16" M1 pro.

      • Was yours office funded MBP or you got it yourself? Thanks.

        • +2

          Why does this matter?

        • Agreed with ATangk, why does it matter? FYI… some workplaces have started supplying developers with M1 Pro MBP 16 inch. M1 Max and/or additional memory upgrade requires special approval.

          • @netsurfer: Haha, just to know if people are getting it from office and if offices have started giving them out. Nothing more. You answered my question, so thanks.

        • Self funded. Now work has decided to supply one.

          • @donkeyrollers: Cool! Am on a 2019 and have been asking for an M1, but its going south.

            • @John Doh: If you have a 2019 MBP, you are normally not due for a new laptop yet. It may not be a bad thing. By the time you are really due for a new laptop, work will most likely have to give you a M1 Pro laptop (or maybe a M2 Pro).

              • @netsurfer: Yes, a 2019 will do, but the M1 Pro is thrice as fast in code compiling, debugging in IDE and IDE error resolving. 3X speed improvents is a nice thing to have for a geeky mind ;)

                • @John Doh: Talk to your boss. If I were you boss, I would approve a M1 Max laptop for you.

                • @John Doh: I told you workplaces have started giving their devs M1 Pro laptops, didn't I? I am not a Jedi so I cannot alter your boss' mind. Already gave you another excuse to try to convince your boss (other workplaces have started giving M1 Pro laptops to developers).

If you really want one now and work refuses to let you change now, get one yourself. If you have a job where the work is willing to offering a MBP, surely you can afford one if you want one.

M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra are the first gen Apple silicon. There is a lot of FOMO from us (developers). Some of the quirks will be fixed in M2 series and Thunderbolt 4 improvements (newer revisions) in the future is inevitable.

                  • @netsurfer: I wanted to buy one, but if the next workplace does not allow me to use my own laptop and dont want to give me an M1, it would be a waste of few 100 bux selling loss.

                  • @netsurfer: I just went through few of your comments from your history. Damn, you are way above me in technical knowledge. How can anyone even remember so much! lol

      • MBP 16" M1 Pro is different to MBPM1.

Furthermore, MBP 16" M1 pro, no MST support. MagSafe allows you to avoid the USB-PD passthrough on one of these not passing 100% of the power to the device. The HDMI port on MBP 16" M1 pro means this hub is even less necessary. You get far less issue with the direct HDMI than via a dongle. You also get a better card reader with MBP 16". So, getting one of these for a MBP 16" is mostly getting a toy.

        • I'm using the HDMI without issues, but I'd like 2 4K monitors instead of one.

Or am I able to split that HDMI into 2?

          • @[Deactivated]: Which one did you get? The 11-in-1? If you are using the cheapest one because you just want a 4K/60Hz, then it is a cost effective way out I guess. The 4K/120Hz, 6K / 8K dongles for MBP M1 Pro/Max are more expensive.

I was referring to the 11-in-1, which is just silly for Apple users to get.

      • Thanks. That's my exact model and I've tried two now that hadn't worked, so appreciate your first hand experience.

    • "Compatible" yes, but Mac does not support USB-C/MST so single display. Only the 5 in 1 supports 4K/60Hz.

      • So this device won't allow me to use dual external monitors?

  • Only using 1080p monitors though

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/683722 previous post. 4$ cheaper

    • Unfortunately, Inflation bites

  • Thanks I ordered one.. should clear up some of the mess at our work from home desk!

I'm using the Simplecom DA-330 for my 2x 1440p monitors from a Surface Laptop.

    1x4k60hz or 2x4k30hz as well.

$32 ish on Amazon, has less ports but does the job if you just want to use 2 screens.

    • I wish it had an USB A port.

  • +3

    4K@30Hz no deal.

    • I agree, 4K 60Hz or 2K 120 to 144Hz or no deal. Especially when it costs so much. On the other hand I think they cant give out that data rate as its split between so many devices.

    • Agree. Pass

    • The 5-in-1 version has 4K @ 60Hz

  • +1

Anyone know if it works with Chromecast? Or know of a model that does?

  • Needs eBay plus membership…

    • Says so in the title

  • I always have questions with this type of very slim dock station. Does it only work on thunderbolt port instead of the normal USB 3 port?

    • Copy and pasted from the item info

      IMPORTANT NOTE !!!

      • Especially for Type C Port Laptop/Tablets/Phone

      • Please ensure the Laptop has tb 3 / USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 /USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 (Support Power Delivery) to support multiple-display before purchase.

I had the same question but I think that says it should work with usb c 3.1 etc

  • Would this deal or something like this be better: https://www.amazon.com.au/j5create-Station-Simultaneously-Di…

I've got the one in the link at work and it works flawlessly for 2 screens, keyboard, mouse, LAN and power throughput.

    I bought a cheaper one a while back from amazon - https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08QZHM7XQ/ref=ppx_yo_d…
It worked with my work laptop with my two screens for two days then the screens wouldn't turn on after that. Got it refunded.

So I'm trying to work out if the one in this deal will be a quality one like the J5create one or more like the Amazon one I bought which was flakey and eventually no screen output?

  • Will 4k30hz hdmi output support 108060hz?
