Am I Going to Get Suspended Again? (NSW)

Hi everyone,

I’ll get down to brass tacks.

  • I believe I was caught speeding at 5pm by a mobile speed camera 10kmh over yesterday (26/5), I’m expecting a fine to arrive for that in the coming weeks
  • I’ve got a letter on the 24th of May stating I have a 3 month licence suspension that starts on 28th June
  • I have accepted the good behaviour bond in lieu of suspension today (after my latest speeding offence)

My question. Is this upcoming speeding ticket going to apply to my good behaviour bond period or will the points apply after the good behaviour bond (assuming I am successful)

I’ve tried to do some research on the timing of this but I can’t find any concrete details as to how this works on revenue NSW. Hopefully someone’s been in this situation and can advise, thanks.

If / when you have a license again, maybe slow down.

Do you try to blame everyone, rather than own up to your own speeding?

        • no i dont speed at all, always drive at speed limit

There's a reason why I never got a ticket, cause I dont overspeed

      • ……one really should not be doing speeding there for the fear of ……….Killing someone!

    • Looks like OP already sped away.

Don't you also agree to longer suspension if good behaviour bond is broken?

    • +2

Yep… It used to go from 3mths to 12

    Stop speeding. Simple.

You'd think the suspension notice would've had you on your best behaviour for at least a couple of weeks. But alas, here you are again, speeding >10kmh over the limit less than 48 hours later.

Hopefully someone’s been in this situation and can advise

Sure. In the immortal words of Jim Carrey from Liar Liar, here's my advice.

Don't worry about things that are out of your control.

Just go about as usual and deal with the fine if it comes.

    • +8

Out of control is not the term I would have used but somehow fits the OP perfectly.

I believe that's exactly what got him into this situation to begin with.

Rektrading, I may be misreading you, but I didn't realise you have a non combative, humanist side.
Best advice on the thread, as no one is addressing OP's question but just stepping up to the pulpit.

      • Rekt has the best advice in every thread.

Pulpitposting is much more fun than actually helping, though.

    • "As usual" for him is speeding enough to get suspensions, so he shouldn't continue doing that.

        No fine = no speeding

time to get a bike, champ

    • Pedal powered that is.

If you accumulate 2 or more demerit points while serving a good behaviour period, your licence will be suspended for double the original suspension period.

    Buy a bicycle

Someone hasn’t learned their lesson. You’d think accepting a good behaviour period would jar you into behaving good, but no.

Hope you’ve got public transport alternatives.

    Get to walking, Fabio!

  • +10

I hope so. For whatever reason, you don't seem to be able to control your speeding behaviour and it'll be safer for everyone else if you were off the road until you can control it. Question is, what will you do differently when you eventually get your license back?

looks like you will be suspended. might as well do some donuts outside a police station while you still have a chance. can't hurt

  • +1

Not sure why you'd be dumb enough to accept a good behaviour term today, that you know you'll break the conditions of because of an offence yesterday?

    No.1

I have accepted the good behaviour bond

    No.2

In 2 days, and it sounds like you didn't practice "good behaviour"…

Unlike bargains, I doubt good behaviour bonds are stackable like promote codes…

Might as well disable your account since you'll be gone after this post.

    Use waze in the future.
Do you have an Android auto headset. In your car?
    Works well.

Or you know, just look out the front window and don’t go faster than the big black number in the red circle.

Keep this up and you’ll end up in prison - hopefully not because you’ve hurt someone. Why so speedy?

    • Speeding to pickup a click & collect

  • Hopefully being off the road for a while will give you time to think about your arrogance and lack of respect for other people in your community before you injure or kill some.

    All the best…

Sounds like a license suspension is needed as OP does not seem to learn and the post is about getting off instead of trying to ensure it does not occur again.

    • That is not how I read it. Just that he wants to know what will happen Maybe he has activities to plan.

  • You are so going to Jail.

  • Just own it.

  • Get a taxi card, get it now.
