    If it's this model (Aspire 5 A515-56) then it has a TFT LCD.

    This expired yesterday & it had an IPS screen - Acer Aspire 3 $495 @HN
    Seems like it was a better deal. Now $595 with $100 HN GC.

        • That link really doesn't explain it that clearly. An IPS display is still a TFT display, as is a TN or VA panel. They are all types of TFT display, so just because it says TFT doesn't strictly mean it is an inferior panel tech (though for some reason often is used instead of saying TN).

    4GB RAM and Windows S mode means it'll cost an extra $150 to upgrade this to be usable. At that point there are a lot of better options for $700-800.

      S mode can be easily be switched out of for free and a 4GB DDR4 stick for this is only around 30 bucks so yeah, not sure where you’re pulling the $150 figure from…
