How Is Amazon with Returns When It Comes to Phones?

Looking at getting a used phone from the Amazon warehouse, they describe the cosmetic damage but don't show pictures. If I use the phone for the day and decide the damage is too severe, battery sucks e.g. can I return it or am I stuck with it the moment I take it out of the box. Anyone had experience with Amazon's change of mind returns?

  • amazon returns are great, just don't do too many or your account will get banned. have had to return stuff in the past (change of mind) and they were exceedingly polite and helpful. i didn't even push for the return, i just asked. i wouldn't have pushed it either, it was my mistake and i would have not bothered with the return if they made it hard.

Amazon returns are great, I think just don't abuse it and you will be fine. I ordered 6 bags of coffee beans instead of ground coffee by mistake and I am genuinely happy to pack it all up and send it back because it was my mistake. Amazon just said I could keep the coffee beans. Now, I have 6 kgs of coffee beans sitting in my pantry waiting for a coffee grinder deal to popup on OzB.

  • Have you guys requested for return via chat or through the individual item in order list (and drop down options)?

My personal experience has been positive too- first one was a price drop (on Amazon itself) after I purchased the item (already delivered), Amazon provided full refund and got me to keep the item. Second one I had to return (bought an Amazfit but decided to go for Xiaomi instead), I did have to return package (free via Auspost) before they processed the refund.

  • I've returned many items without issue.

Anyone have any info as to when red flags are raised for account banning? I keep more than i return, but do worry that I'll be sprung with an account ban.

It'd be good to know it if its a rolling scale (eg. 3 returns per month) or finite quantity (eg. 10 returns then bam!)

    • I shouldn't say this but where I work at a rival.

5% of total spend and 15% of total number of orders.

Exemptions for those less than 20 total orders.
