Back to the historical low for these plugs thanks to triplecamel
Works out to about $16.13 per plug

1-pack also available at $18.75

2-pack at $33.74, $16.87 per plug

Personally getting them because I'm neck deep in the iOS ecosystem (or 'swamp' for the haters)

Edit: Non-homekit with energy monitoring also available at historical low — cheers DATApush3r.

  • Do these actually have the “Works with Apple HomeKit” printed on them like in the photos or are they plain white?

    • Nah.. See the Images in Reviews.

    • hehe.. maybe that's an additional few dollars in licensing.
yes, they're plain white aside from the possibly regulatory electrical info 10A etc.

the only other alternative far as i'm aware in australia for native homekit smart plugs are the eve ones — and you don't need to go far to see they haven't really impressed us (8amp rating)

Works with Home Assistant via HACS. He's also working on LAN only mode apparently.
Takes up to power point spots though…

  • No energy monitoring with this plug :(

    • +1

There is an energy monitoring version : https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07MNL86JJ/ Good alternative if you're not stuck in Apple's HomeKit ecosys
If you want energy monitoring with HomeKit compativle, then Cygnett's wifi smart plug https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/703062 is your alternative option

      • thanks for linking this one. I was under the impression HomeKit plugs were few and far between but it seems like there are a small handful. I note the cygnet one is reviewed as having perhaps some connectivity issues but this meross one also doesn't exactly look immune. I would submit that it's perhaps more because of wifi in general rather than manufacturer defect.

looking forward to Australian thread-supported smart plugs.

Was just about to post the same link. Bought one this morning coincidentally to switch on a dehumidifier in the middle of the night so it also heats the room for the morning! Tightarse double win!

I just happened to buy this 4 pack two days ago myself haha. My wife and I have the opposite problem as we just bought a humidifier. Can we just borrow some of your watery air?

      • What mechanical operation dehumidifier do you have that is able to default to on? :)

        • No idea how it will work yet, hoping I can just leave the settings on what I want and it switches on and they stay the same. Will have to test it tonight. Am using with IPhone IOS though so probably should have got the HomeKit ones. I saw these work with IOS and just ‘assumed’ it was HomeKit, anyway happy to try their Ap.

@leroy: yeah the pm ones don't support HomeKit. you will definitely still be able to get automations (especially simple time of day ones) either in meross app or via apple on-phone automations in Siri Shortcuts app, or even google home routines to name a few.

I'm purchasing them for HomeKit automations which aren't available on-phone (e.g. 'when everyone has left home', 'when I arrive home' etc.)

            • @KeplersLaws: Thanks for info 👍🏻

            • @KeplersLaws: Hi, I’ve connected it to my wifi set a routine to switch it on and off at a set time, at the right time it switches the plug on but not the dehumidifier itself. Assume it would have to be on a standby mode which I doubt it can or does.

        • I think I now know what you mean. My dehumidifier isn’t wifi connected and doesn’t seem to have a standby mode so it won’t actually switch the unit on, the smart plug switches on at the set time though. Painful!

Sorry for the n00b question, but what would be the difference between one of these, and a Sonoff S20 (or S26) other than being less bulky? Are they essentially the same kind of thing (a smart plug)? Does the Sonoff do anything that these can't?

    • not noob at all. the short answer is not much if you don't use apple or homekit, and a bit if you do. the sonoff doesn't support homekit out of the box, meaning you won't be able to add and control it from the 'Home' app on your iDevices.
if all you need are basic functions such as time-of-day/sunset/rise scheduling or manual control via app, you're needlessly paying for the homekit premium.
personally i'm using them for some of the more automated and exclusive homekit based actions (such as turning on plugs automatically when everyone leaves the house, etc). i can also instruct siri on either my phone or apple watch to toggle them, even when away from home.

      • Cheers, thanks. You say "out of the box" - are you referring to using custom firmware like Tasmota, I think it was?

        • +1

Yeah and stuff like home assistant or things that allow the devices to appear in HomeKit non natively

I've been beaten, I only came on here to tell you guys about the 4 pack with energy monitoring. Nice to see that someone is on the ball to keep us spending. ;)
