EOFY Sale - 20% off All Pirelli Tyres @ Tyroola

Promo runs until 30 Jun 2022.

I found this while I was comparing prices with the 33% off Pirelli @ MyCar Tyre & Auto deal

For me, I was after the P Zero PZ4 tyre and in my size it was dramatically cheaper on Tyroola even with fitting costs because there's no inflated RRP starting price. YMMV, compare for your own requirements.

Jaxtyres is doing 35% off Pirelli too, but you need to buy 4.

    • How much does it cost for wheel alignment at Jaxtyres?

    • Well that's annoying… But thank you for letting us know!

Going to see if I can cancel my Tyroola order.

EDIT: Just did a trial run of a JAX order and stock might be a problem on the Sale day given you need to ring up. Might just leave everything as is.

Tyre newbie here. Are pirelli on a level with michelin for a normal run around car. Looking for comfort and safety.

    • +1

Comfort and safety, I would say yes.
      Performance, michelin would be better

Would come down to which model of tyre from each brand you choose too and purpose.

  • Pzero doesn't perform until you get the temp up

  • Wondering which "inflated RRP" you're talking about…
In my situation, I was comparing this PZero XL and this one, one is $439 at Tyroola and $445 at Mycar so I assume they're the same tyres. There's then another $142-192 worth of fitting costs with Tyroola
So it comes to $1557 with Tyroola with an average fitting cost or $1192 fitted at Mycar (plus flybuys points if that's important to you).

Even this PZ4 Corsa is $749 fitted at Mycar and $751 at Tyroola without fitting, then there's the larger discount at Mycar.

    • I did say:

YMMV, compare for your own requirements.

My example PZ4 255/35R19 before discounts:
      Mycar - $495
      Tyroola - $400

My other size was even more ridiculous at $605 on Mycar.

      • It still works out about $100 cheaper fitted through Mycar using those tyres?
$1280 plus fitting which was $144-192 ($1424 total with cheapest fitting) for me or $1324 fitted at Mycar

I would hardly call it "inflated RRP", more like they're listing it at RRP, which when it includes fitting, is a fair price. When you need to add another $35-50 per tyre to the price to get them fitted, it's a bit misleading.

        • That example is fair and checks out.

I would say my case is less common then because the other size tyre I was getting was $605 vs $485 so my total order was still cheaper + 8% Cashrewards.

Definitely recommend to do your own calculations.

          • @tof: Always pays to shop around, that's why we're all here.
Tyres are particularly confusing as there's so many different types that appear the same on face value but are slightly different or made to a manufacturer's specifications.

  • Any recommendations on what Pirelli to get for a VW Golf for city use?

P7 Cinturato is on mine, nice and quiet.
