Is this a bad game? I’ve never seen COD games get discounted this much. Does it have any single player?
Modern Warfare II will go out in couple months. I think this is a strategy to attract more users and hopefully that user will purchase the new game for $100 above.

Modern Warfare 2 is set to release October 28th and a beta will be launching before its release date if you pre-order.
Then few mths till 1/10000th of the bugs are ironed out and the rest of th bugs will be there for eternity… like all COD's (COD = Camp On Duty)

Yea it has single player. Not a bad game but some don’t like it over previous years. Still at least 4 months before the next COD comes out so will still have plenty of players to play against.

I believe this is also the most recent installment of a zombies mode for a few years if the COD development cycle is no longer annual. Could be until 2024 for another zombies iteration is released
The Zombies mode was also very poorly done in this release compared to Cold War before it which was a lot of fun. Been a while since I have tried it so I'm not sure if they have gone back to update it and make it any good now, but around launch it was extremely boring and nothing of what people want from Zombies.
I've heard they're returning to a more traditional zombies mode with a new map being released soon. The "new" map, being a remake from WaW lol
@DiscountForThee: Hahaha I guess that would at least make it a bit more enjoyable, but maybe not for those who exhausted the WaW maps? Maybe they will add some fun new details to the map rather than just making it look prettier.
There's mixed response. I personally loved the single player. It's a classic Dirty Dozen style story and there's a lot of variation because you play backstories for all the characters (Aussie missions are the best ones)
But it's short like most COD campaigns. Shorter than Cold War. The multiplayer is just your bog standard, and many didn't like it.
Looks like a good price! Hopefully the short single player campaign is worth the price of admission.
Don't bother, the game is basically dead with 100+ ping lobbies regardless of the time or day.

I mean the game is dead on Australian servers. it basically never gives me Aussie servers, it's always 100+ ping which means it's not our servers.
I’m always on with 34 ping. Unfortunately the most popular though is shiphaus.
@Slo20: What mode? i normally play TDM, shipment is boring regardless of how well you go.
The difference for me between our servers and elsewhere is 7-10 ping and 100+ it's definitely noticeable when your shots aren't killing them and you're dying when fully behind cover.
@Axelstrife: I typically select most modes (not FFA or SND) modes which might be why I have better luck.
Lol the days I played with 200ms+ on Aussie servers weren't so long ago. 100ms still workable for me. :)
my ping is pretty much ~70 all games, it's playable
70 is not the same as 100+.

What's the difference between XB1 and XSX version? I think it's a smart delivery game.
It's not, but you can play the XB1 version with backwards compatiblity on XSX just worse visuals

Important question.. Is the campaign worth $24.. I played plenty of the online multiplayer from fee weekends which I don't like compared to MW2019.
I think so which is why I jumped at it at this price. Dont care one bit for the MP but the campaigns are usually a bit of fun. Then just trade it in to EB when done.

I religiously play all of the CoD campaigns, and this one is pretty meh. It's not bad, but it's not great either. Doesn't stand out in any way, is not memorable at all. For reference: my favourite campaigns are the original MW, MW2, Infinite Warfare and MW2019. Oh, and World at War is pretty good as well.
Surprisingly, the best part of Vanguard is actually the offline local play against AI bots. If you're into that kind of singleplayer versus bots gameplay, then it's well worth it. Very satisfying gunplay, and the TTK is very fast.
I can't speak for actual multiplayer since I don't have PS Plus and I don't play multiplayer game modes.

Good point, I did enjoy the Black Ops series so I should've listed them as well. Cold War was decent, but not as good as the original Black Ops IMO.
I just thought of another comparison: the campaign in Vanguard is kinda like the campaign in CoD WWII. I can't remember what happened in that game at all, it was pretty forgettable for me.
@deadpoet: I felt the same, I played a little of WWII but lost interest half way, think it was the last COD I bought.
Thanks for the tip about the offline bots - I'm not usually big on multiplayer but played tonnes of BO1 and Ghosts botmatches, I'll have to pick this one up when I get a PS5.
I had played all COD campaigns too except this one until now. I only skipped the game entirely because i didn't like the multiplayer beta as I do play multiplayer. But now I have just played the campaign since my original post, I can agree it is ok average but I actually enjoyed it more than Cold War to be honest. Not sure why. Of course Infinity Ward are the only quality COD developers and their campaign and multiplayers to me are the best. MW2 22 I'm really looking forward to!

When I went to JB, they didn't want to price match with Amazon. The worker said that the difference was far too large (JB has it priced at $99) and even scoffed at me. Never had an issue like this before.
Luckily I pulled up the Target link and they still had stock in the same suburb.
Goes to show that price matching at JB really is dependent on the worker you ask.
I am not surprised. While I have only been rejected on price matching a few times (JB and other places), I find it a hit and miss if the price different is large. Stores will just say it's below their cost price, or if it's on clearance, or price error or something like that.
But it's strange that in your case, it wouldn't price match Amazon due to the price difference and yet it price matched Target when the price difference is the same.

The ps4 and xbox versions that are $19 trade in for the same amount as the ps5/xsx copies. So save $5 and go the cheaper copies

Each game is $28 standard value, then you get the 50% on top so that brings it to $42. Then what ever you level 1 membership bonus gets you
@lordezekiel: The 50% bonus is a current promotion when you put the trade in value towards specific game preorders. In this case, Thunder-Wombat put the value towards the upcoming COD MWII.
