One for every full price pre order

    • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Collectors edition is selling for $450 on eBay

eBay sellers already have this edition up for $400

      • +1

People actually paying that much? People can also bid on ebay and not pay so I am not sure how accurate that is?

  • +6

As far as CE goes this ones pretty average. Not worth the $ imo but you will still get boatloads scalping this.

    • +5

agree, i was expecting a free body pillow cover or something…

    • +1

Only artbook and crappy steel case. Would it actually be easy to scalp or require waiting a long time before it's valuable?

Always wondered what happens if you sell on ebay and buyer says they didn't receive it or something. Any protection for seller there?

      • +1

If you have tracking that confirms delivery to thier address then it's considered delivered by eBay.

        • So as long as my shipping is tracked then it's okay? Wondered what would happen if sell something and they say it's broken or fake, etc. Or that would require them to ship it back.

          • @JL1: For something high value it would be tracking and a signature on delivery so postie can't just leave it if no one is there to recieve it.

If something is damaged or buyer claims it's not as described then the seller has to provide them with a shipping label to return for a refund.

            • @Megumin: Thanks for the info! I am worried to sell sneakers in case they try to swap and return fakes. Or whether it's safe to sell a ps5 on ebay.

I've had a lot of posties just drop off and not even ring bell. I wonder if some option I selected ages ago or they are just lazy.

    • It's $60 more for a 250 page artbook and a steelcase. It will increase in value over time.

    • +2

??? What would you consider a good collectors edition then because I consider this to be perfect. The artbooks they include in these are beautiful and huge like the 'The Art of X' artbooks you'd see sold separately for many games.

Including a vinyl like the the XC:DE one is really the only way I see it could be better.

Overall it's so much better than the plastic junk other CEs come with, and MUCH MUCH better than the junk little artbooks other games include.

      • Well it could've been hard cover like they're getting in the US for starters.

        • I'm not sure what the US got but this looks a lame small paperback book. I guess it's cheaper for them to ship over garbage to our region than heavier hard covers.

          • +1

@cyrax83: It's a decent sized artbook (~A4 from the pictures), same as the US, but yeah the soft cover feels much cheaper than a hard cover.

Also no soundtrack, it's the worst Switch Xenoblade collectors edition so far.

  • +8

    A book? garbage CE edition

  • +1

This CE split arrangement is dumb. I assume it's a supply chain issue but it's still dumb.

    • +1

maybe they just want to save costs… its easier to give the game and collectables separately so that they don't need to spend time packing it. by how much savings? Idk. bean counters gunna bean count.

    • -1

I heard it was an attempt to reduce scalping. Unsure if just a YouTube theory but yeah.

    • +5

It's cause they bumped Xenoblade 3's release date ahead a few months earlier this year.

    • Part of it is because July 29 wasn't the original release date of the game, it was meant to be several months later.

  • +2

Would've been nice to include a soundtrack or something as well.

Still nabbed it anyway because I love the series.

  • Grab it anyway, love 1&2

  • +2

On the US store it apparently crashed and sold out quick. Grabbed this one as soon as it popped up on the AU store.

    • Same, I was surprised that it is still available to order. Maybe we have less xb fans here. Or less population anyway.

  • This will be worth a bit in the future no doubt.

I always fail to see the bargains

      Fixed it for you.

      • -8

Just because I don't post that doesn't mean I'm not a bargain hunter. Im just lazy and selfish to post a bargain I find myself. A true bargain leaps out of the screen and people purchase it even if they don't need it because the price is so good.

        This post doesn't do that.

Talking from 4 years of experience looking at Ozbargin almost everyday and purchasing only true bargains

        • +7

You should try contributing then mate

          • -1

@profounddominator: Yes I should. I was just being honest and pointing out OzDJ_ is wrong.

Honesty is not very popular around here but I'm not here to be Mr popular I'm just here for the bargains.

People appreciate these notifications on this site, if you don't, keep scrolling. You spend more effort bitching than simply ignoring and we already have @jv as Chief ShitPoster, you're not "honest", you're irrelevant.

              • -4

@eagerfisherman: Thanks for proving my point, yes my comment is irrelevant as is yours and everyone else's once this post is expired. I will no longer reply back to this comment section as is getting too off topic, and I have better things to do. the comments should be about the post.

          • @profounddominator: Con….tri….bu….yeah nah

    • +5

I'm a game collector, this most likely will be very rare to purchase at RRP in future.

Feel free to check how much Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Chronicles 2 Torna normal edition cost on ebay, fb market place, gumtree etc.

Same fundamentals apply with the price of graphics cards within the past couple of years, it's supply and demand.

      The RRP is the deal.

      • Out of curiosity, how do you know the same will happen for this game? Not disagreeing, just genuinely curious.

I've got physical copies of DE, 2 and Torna, so I know about the rarity. Is that likely to be an ongoing thing though?

        • Watch as they print 100x the CE's this time around and "collectors" ie scalpers start crying. Already confirmed that more SE copies of the game will be made available in the US.

          • @[Deactivated]: That's because US website was dead, not they are going to print more because of the demand.

            • @ce5himm: Not sure what the website has to do with it, but are you implying that the prices for 2 & Torna were due to shortages? In which case, adequate supply this time around would pretty much nullify that…?

              • +1

@themadman: Because the website was crashed like 10 mins after live, people were unable to place order or having error. Nintendo tried to fix it, maybe it took longer than their expectations, and decide to reopen in a later time. They do have stock left.
For 2 and torna, yes, they didn't expect this kind of success, they didn't print enough. It's not about supply, they just decide that they won't reprint these games. Pushing people to buy digital. (Make more profit)
Of course all the collector/special edition is another story.
Look at the contents of 3's collector edition, way less collectable than the 2, I don't personally expect this will copy the story of 2 collector edition. But it's the lowest to buy for sure.

        • Put it this way, it’s hard to say whether this will appreciate in price enough to be a worthwhile “investment”. But if you ever want this for your own collection, this is likely the cheapest price you’re gonna pay.
So in that sense, I see the value of this post.

          • @zonra: Oh yeah, totally agree. Its not a deal per se, but the cheapest you're ever going to see it is before release.

  • Got one, thanks!

  • +2

I'm surprised that this is still available for preorder, must not be that many Xenoblade fans in Australia :(

    • I literally just finished playing through the first one 3 days ago. Very good game. I'm not yet ready for the epilogue though..

    • A poster said we get a worse version with soft cover instead of hard cover?

    • Sad there ain't as many fans, yet thankful coz it allowed us to snag a copy at least.

  • Got one thanks mate

  • +6

Looks like US got the SE which comes with hard cover waifus meanwhile the weebs down under got shafted as CE comes with soft cover waifus only.

  • Yes! Was waiting for this to go on pre-order since it was announced.

  • Anyone know type of shipping they use? Aus Post or courier?

    • +1

no idea on the postage method, but u can opt to pick up from Scoresby if u can.

    • +6

I bought a Nintendo 64 Controller last month delivered by Australia post with a red huge box which couldn't hide from my wife :(

    • +1

All of the MyNintendo orders I've recieved have all arrived by Aus Post.

    • I don't know about the type, but everything I've bought from the Nintendo Store has been very well packed.

The controllers I got came in a box, with an outer plain cardboard box around it, with cardboard inserts to hold the inner box in place. Then two layers of bubble wrap taped around it then the third outer box.

  • +4

If you have some platinum coins you can nab some Nintendo loot with the free shipping (usually gotta spend $80 or pay the postage).

    • +1

Keep this info coming :) very helpful, thanks!

  • Good share, been waiting for this, surprise it's not a EB Exclusive

  • +2

Preordered it at midday without any problems! So lucky Australia for easier access to preorder it unlikely My Nintendo Store US that website crashed all day.

It's gonna be my Game of the Year 2022! Previous games are truly MASTERPIECE JRPG games!

    • +1

Agreed. Tales of Arise and other related games were a really good, but the story failed to hit the emotional notes that XC1, XC2 and (oh god) Torna did.

  • +6

    I got no money.

    I don't want to buy.

    Please don't let me buy.

    ..

    Got one. Thanks op.

    Post- nut regret.

    .. what have I done?!!!!

    • If you have genuine buyers regret and want to sell it to a genuine collector who forgot to order… please drop me a line. Can't believe I snoozed on this. 🤦‍♂️

      • Not sure on pricing but PlayAsia have a listing up for future pre-orders, no pricing or dates as of now.

        • Thanks mate. Didn't even think to check with them!

  • +1

who remembers when collectors edition used to be actual good?

    • +1

      For example…

      • +1

The Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition was pretty darn cool, it was really too bad there was no physical game. Anything with their own controllers, some with included amiibos were also pretty nice.

It's hard to point out good value or unique limited editions nowadays, this one is certainly bare minimum though.

      • +1

Off the top of my head:
        Fire Emblem Fates SE
        The Last Guardian CE
Ni no Kuni 2 CE (with the printed soundtrack vinyl)
        Odin Sphere Leifthrasir: Storybook Edition

    • +2

its true, most "collectors editions" these days just have a steelcase and soundtrack while doubling the RRP on the game :/

  • +1

pulled the trigger, 250 page art book will make a great addition to any collectors cave, thanks OP

  • Missed the deal by one day..Cant believe they dont have so limited stock, the jp site have pretty much ultimate preorder stock
