Vodafone to Boost Slow Port

Have been a long time Telstra Business customer, decided recently to switch to Boost and heard it was safer to port via another company which I did (temporarily ported to Vodafone prepaid).

It's now been 4 days since I submitted my port request to Boost from Vodafone and each company points to the other blaming the delay.

I'm aware of the possible port issues but my situation couldn't be simpler, accounts are both in my name (easy spelling), DOB (no issues) etc.

Vodafone asked me to get any possible error code from Boost who tell me there is no error code but that the port is still in progress.

Boost Mobile now say they have created a ticket for a "force activation" which sounds like BS to me but I've no choice but to wait another "3 to 5 business days" I guess.

Has anybody recently ported to Boost and encountered a delay?

My Telstra to Vodaphone port took about an hour.

  • Not sure what is going on here, but if you have managed to get through to the Boost porting team and they are onto it, hopefully it won't take too much longer.

Should've gone to Amaysim, hands down best support I've experienced (I've tried them all).

    • You got neg like saying circle.life has the best port out experience.

pm me your mobile number,i'll look into it (from a Boost side)

no pm me your number. I'll look into it (from a rando on the internet side)

      • Don’t bother me either way

  • Definitely hit up Vodafone,
I did the same from kogan (Vodafone) to boost and after 48 hours i got fed up.

Got onto the kogan support and they played dumb saying "You should've received a confirmation text allowing us to port over/release your number"

Turns out no sms was ever sent, within a minute they had sent through the text, i'd approved and was ported within 15 minutes.
    Classic Kogan service.

There was no Kogan involved there, Kogan Mobile customer service is Vodafone, same way Boost customer service is actually Telstra.

I got some issue porting from Kogan back to Boost but this was AFTER i entered the code and keep failing on finalising the port. Chat up with Boost (much faster than calling) and they fixed it in 15 mins.

      • *sorry should've replaced kogan with vodafone for the OP's case.

What I meant is there's no Kogan mobile support at all, they are in fact Vodafone. Kogan only resell the plan.

    • So the port-out from VF has been tightened? Previously, in your case, only Boost requires a verification code.

It may be due the heavy loss of users, especially overseas students or visitors. Not surprising as it is owned by TPG now.

  • Port went through this arvo 👍
