Great game, can download the PS5 version free of charge, but need to keep the PS4 disc in the PS5 drive while playing.

Is cheaper at eb games if you click and collect.

    • I keep seeing this game on OzB, but don't hear about it anywhere else (gaming media).

I presume it's a series that has its decidated fan base but maybe not too much reach 🤷🏼‍♂️

      Is this your typical JRPG?

      • Somewhat yes, but it was compelling enough for me finish the story.

Many JRPGs feel long-winded and are a chore to finish, I didn't find that dilemma with this game.

      • It's one of the biggest JRPG franchises which was surprising to find out because I also never heard of this game when it came out. I only heard of this game a few months after release when I looked specifically for RPGs to play. Maybe they just don't bother with marketing outside of Japan?

        • No I believe this is more Australia's problem due to our tiny and kinda unimportant market. This series has been well known in the west ever since Microsoft paid a very large chunk of money to Namco to release Tales of Vesperia exclusive to Xbox360 instead of on Sony's platform.

Our market just don't really matter to Namco. All distribution to Australia is handled through Europe lol and they allocate an extremely limited quantity of game copies here (all ps5 copies sold out within half a year of release with no reprints for Aus). Theres just larger sharks for them to catch.

    • just remember to redeem with US account if this copy is US version because the offer is region locked

  • This has been my favourite Tales since Vesperia. I'm finding it a lot more memorable than the PS3/PS4 games.

This is the USA region version which won't be compatible with DLC from AUS PS Store

    • +3

you won't be able to claim the PS5 free game upgrade with AU account as well, it's region locked.

    • Valid concern.

Removed my upvote for this reason.

PSA - USA version, so AU DLC isn't compatible and you won't get the free PS5 upgrade. Buyer beware.

Negging only to bring this to ppl's attention.

    EDIT: Ninja'd!

    • What do you mean by not getting the PS5 version? Can't you just create a US PSN account or is the free upgrade exclusive to EU region only?

      • As far as I'm aware you could just make a US account for the upgrade and DLC. More an issue if you plan to play online with your DLC as you would need to have PS+ for the US account to go online, no idea if this game is one you can play online but either way no point having to make another region account if you haven't got one or use one when you can get the AU for the same price or cheaper it seems.

No online in this game. It would take 5 mins to create a US account and you can just play on your main account. I've been doing it for years to get 60Hz PS1/PS2 games and PSN games were generally cheaper back then.

    • Thanks for that mate. How do you tell if it's USA version??

it's the rating label. T instead of M.
        GDG usually sells imported games.

        • Thanks for that!

Only 40 hours of gameplay? Should be 10 bucks

    • Took me about 80 hours to 100%.

  • It's interesting this title wasn't released in Australia for PS. Still waiting for a decent PS5 copy deal for collection.
