So I’ve just set up my Meross garage door device however it will not work in HomeKit. it works perfectly fine via the Meross app, and they can be added to HomeKit however they’re forever on “this accessory is not responding”.
Everything is running the latest iOS, device has update firmware etc. also tried it on another iOS device however still no luck.
One odd thing to add is that the notifications come up from the home app when the door is opened/closed. So it is clearly communicating with the home app fine.
So odd..
These are pretty popular to Ozbargainers so I’m wondering if anyone else is having similar issues?

Make sure you’ve updated it to the lastest firmware. They made some good improvements over the last year, I used to have similar issues but it’s much better these days
I had this issue and for weeks I couldn’t figure out. One redditor asked me to set the time of the door closing to 30sec on the Meross app and surprisingly, that fixed the HomeKit issue. mind blown
Same. I was always getting an obstruction detected message when opening/closing through HomeKit, but after I set the time of door closing in the Meross app, my issues were resolved.
Where in the app do I do that? Meross says there’s an edit button on the icon for my smart device, but nope, there isn’t. My icon is a garage door pic, and the words “smart garage door opener” and “closed”. That’s all. No + or dots or anything else.
It’s not very intuitive. On the iOS app, you tap on the white or text part of the of the button. It takes you into the options rather than activating the door. The setting is in the Advance settings > Opening time.

My issue seemed to be within the Home app. Once I deleted it and re-downloaded it, I was able to get it working. It was a bit of an odd one.
Has anyone been able to figure out how to stop the door from opening/closing? Mine seems to only want to open fully or close fully..
It would be nice to be able to press it so that the door stops, say mid open?No I haven’t. I just tested it with Home Assistant so I could send multiple open/close commands and it just ignored the additional commands while it was still carrying out the first one. Might not be possible.
Also, it could be a bit risky if the door looks open, but isn’t quite, then you try to drive through. I know from experience 🥲

I just checked mine again now.I was sitting in car and pressed the app to close, as opposed to the regular door opener on sunvisor.
I have it set to alarm when closing, but that doesn't make any difference.
I pressed the door icon again, and the door stopped midway.On that note, with the door open, the app showed the door closed, I had to restart the app again.
I received this message on the app page
"Garage 1 close action is failed"@Spending2Much: Oh nice, I guess that’s a work around. I get the feeling that it’s not a feature they support. Different doors might react in different ways to getting a second command.
Had a similar issue with my Meross opener on B&D panel door
I seem to think they told me to set the time to 25 seconds.
I've since had to change my wifi password, which means full reset. Deleted the door off the app, re installed, re set up.
I had a few issues at the beginning, emailed Meross, they replied quite quickly.
I need to get these same settings for the new install, but can't find the original email from Meross.
Mine does this from time to time, I find that power cycling the Meross unit usually fixes things. I.E. unplugging USB power, leaving it for 15 secs and then plugging it back in.
