Selling Privately - Any Conveyancer Recommendations (SA) ?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has come across some great conceyancing / pricing in SA.

Im selling my own home and have someone interested in buying (unconditional cash purchase via PEXA).

So guess I need a Contract drawn, Form 1 prepared (not sure if needed for an unconditional cash buy?) and Settlement performed.

Cheers all.

  • Hi, I rang around and had pricing from $1650 to $2300. This was NSW. Doing agoogle search will give you an estimate for each state.
Only downside, I have to pay $650 up front for the cheapest.

  • What appears to be the cheapest may not be. I went with someone that appeared cheap in SA though ended up not so much. Also their communication was terrible though got the job done. I was buying and not selling however so maybe a different experience on the other side.

Have used Bail and Robazza on Hutt St Adelaide a few times.
Well priced, communicate well and found them very competent during a private sale that was made problematic by the purchaser being a jerk.
    Would recommend them.

Bought via them before and was fine. Also more recently with Propsect Conveyancing as private sale, also good.

  • Emma Barnett from Stevens Partners, Pirie St. 👍

  • FWIW seeing as you're savvy enough to sell yourself (my kudos to you for that, I'll be doing the same when the time comes) - habe you considered coveyancing the sale yourself?

It's MUCH simpler than you'd think - and as you're selling it's easier than doing the conveyancing when buying.

I did the conveyancing myself when buying our home - and it's essentially filling out a bunch of forms and mailing a bunch of stuff off. With the PEXA system it may be much easier. I did via a DIY conveyancing company - who you followed a set flow of documents on - honestly was very easy.

Won't save you as much as the DIY sale but likely around $1500 or so in savings for a handful of hours filling out forms. Well done on the sale. :-)

    • Cheers. Conveyancing is around $900.

I recon 99% of the time it would be a breeze. My concern would be the 1% (when a bank is late .. looking at you CBA), or something happens between contract and settlement (ie the house burns down) how that all plays out would be factored into the conveyancing cost. Does the kit you mention have any insurance/ indemnity type cover with it?

As for selling a house. Pretty easy to be honest and cost $0. Forsalebyhomeowner put a flyer in my letterbox offering a free listing on RE.com/ Domain. The rest is just honest communication. I didn't do the agent games thing. Just said I've been offered this much, if you are interested just make a higher offer..simples.
