If you spend $200 and use the 10% discount each month that’s a saving of $20 at Woolworths (-$7 per month = $13 savings).

    • -2

If I'm reading it correctly it's actually 5% off woolies and 5% off Big W once per month so them saying 10% is incredibly decepetive IMO.

      • +3

        10% off at each

        • -3

          Doesn't seem that way:

          Terms and Conditions
          *10% off discount
Extra Discount applies with registered Everyday Rewards Card scanned, or linked to subscriber’s Woolworths or BIG W online accounts, when shopping from 12:01am AEST/AEDT on the first day of each calendar month and 11:59pm AEST/AEDT on the last day of that same calendar month. Everyday Extra allows valid primary and secondary Everyday Rewards Plus cardholders to receive an additional 5% off 1 Woolworths and 1 BIG W shop once a month, in addition (but in separate transactions) to other team member flexi discount offers.

            What is Everyday Extra?

Extra Discount: 10% off one shop per month at Woolworths and 10% off one shop per month at Big W

            • @ozhunter: Yes, scroll down. What I posted is from the T&C at the bottom.

          • +4

@apsilon: That wording is from the staff discount page, who get 5% off plus an extra 5% once a month.

            • @mskeggs: It's from the T&C of this deal. It may be an error and it does contradict what's higher on the page but it's there.

              • +1

@apsilon: Gee, that's very sneaky. That first "Extra Discount: 10% off one shop per month at Woolworths and 10% off one shop per month at Big W" appears to be contradicted by the T&Cs. I'd believe the T&Cs. So if you shop at WW a lot, and not Big W (or vice versa) you're getting shafted with only a 5% discount.

  • Looks like woolies is copying costco

Thats almost like their credit card program without a credit card

      Or mobile SIM

      • Don't collect extra points just with their insurance or mobile plans thou

        https://cards.woolworths.com.au/credit-cards/everyday-platin…

Have they not suspended new application, credit card at $49pa is much better deal than this

        • You are better off with the Woollies mobile, as you get the 10% off once a month, and you get the 4% on Woollies Gift Cards/5% on others. You get the phone plan for free and more money in your pocket.

  • I was interested to see if 3x reward points also applies to bonuses. Because that would make Apple Gift Card redemptions OP when they do their 10/20points per dollar etc deals.

However I’m reading the T&C it appears it’s not actually 3x points, it’s an extra 2 points per usual dollar spend.

During the free trial it's a good idea

    Some more discussion here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/706804

  • So lucky I'm still on their 10 dollar/mth plan, just to get 10% off a month

  • +3

Doesn't seem like terrible value, works out to be $4.92 a month if you do annual sub. With 10% off at 1 shop and Woolies and Bigw each, you only need to spend $25 at each and you've broken even. Curious to see what the freebies and extra bonuses are too.

  • +2

We're already getting the 10% off on two WW Mobile plans. I'd struggle to spend enough extra on top to balance out the additional discount, but otherwise it'd be a very safe subscription, so to speak.

As long as you spend $70, then you've broken even - which really isn't hard to do.

    • Maybe this would give you 20% like when the credit card 10% and mobile 10% deals stacked years ago.

  • if i mostly shopped at Woolworths then i would but 90 percent of my shop is Aldi the other 10 percent is coles-worth it isnt worth it for me

How about fixing that problem where people are getting hacked and their points being stolen first.

I read that thread here in the forums and seems like it is still happening to this day?

Shut down Woolworths and bring Lidl to Oz!

  • My initial thought was "rip-off", but then I considered that I sometimes struggle to make a second $10 / 30 days Woolworths Mobile service (that's in my wife's name and tied to her EDR membership) pay for itself. Given that it doesn't get used for anything other than a second 10% off per month, I've decided to cancel it and run with "Extra" instead.

  • Received my first "Extra Perk" offer……. Double Fix-ems™ exclusive. I can barely contain myself. /s

  • Does anyone know or has tested if the 10% applies to Woolies Caltex? I've checked the FAQ and the exclusions include Ampol and MetroGo, but no mention of Woolies Caltex.

  • Just got an "Extra Perk" - Free Frey Chocolate 100g selling for $3

I believe this is the first time I see a freebie for "Extra Perk"

    • Honestly,I wasn't expecting anything major or expensive, but I feel like this is a little disappointing.

I'm a bunch member and sometimes get free food to try. The best thing i had gotten was a packet of steak.

Now that would be a nice perk!

Just signed up for my wife and i. Such a no brainer. We spend about $200 per week at Woolworths. So for $5 we save $20 each per month and get 10% off at Big W as well, not that we shop there regularly and won't change behavior.

Overall, with 2 cars insured with woolworths and 2 lots of woolworths plus, each month we will have:
Week 1 - 10% for discount on insurance car 1
Week 2 - 10% for discount on insurance car 2
Week 3 - 10% for discount on woolworths plus me
Week 4 - 10% for discount on woolworths plus mrs me

Plus randomly 2 lots of 10% off at Big W per month.

Plus discounted gift cards. Win win win win win.

    • hi @cnrmlj my wife and i are looking at doing the same thing - currently we get discounted ww gc and she is the everyday extras member, she stores all the gift cards in her everyday pay i think it is? app, and its been working fine

looking at me signing up though so that we can double the amount of discounted shops at big w and woolworths. i was wondering how you guys manage the payments etc? do you do it with discounted gift carsd too? just wanting to do it as easily as possible

      thanks

      • Yes. As I noted in my post, last sentence. We use discounted gift cards.

It's a bit of a system / process but really not that hard to setup and manage to get some easy savings.

Woolworths gift cards in Rewards / Everyday pay app for shopping at Woolworths. Everday pay then manages which gift cards to use as it transitions from 1 to the other with part payments.

Wish (fuel, alcohol etc.) and Big W Gift cards in the Woolworths Money app.

Generally, restock at the start of each month after the credit card statement period ends so they go into the following credit card cycle.

Use Entertainment book for the discounts. Woolworths sometimes have bonus point promotions for buying their gift cards through the app so will buy Wish ones as they are the most valuable and have the lowest entertainment book discount.

        • thanks @cnrmlj if each of you have a seperate everyday extras account though, how does that work with the everyday pay app? it can only be linked to one everyday extras/everyday rewards card right? thakns

          • @ErlichBachman: We each have our own:
            - Phone
            - Everyday rewards account with everyday extras
            - The apps installed

The gift cards are put into the apps on each phone and are used as required.
