      Huh, watch you talking about?

who buys quarts watches …..people that own several watches, don’t wear same watch everyday, and hate the nuisance of setting the time if auto hasn’t been worn in a few days ….. solar are ideal but battery usually lasts about 3 years ….. only autos i still wear are one of 3 my seasmasters and that is usually to show off wealth ….my 4 th seamaster is a quartz one which they discontinued and i wear often ….. people seem to get caught up in quartz being cheap …..quartz is convenient and accurate ….solar is ideal …..accurate, convenient, and don’t even need to worry about battery change ….

I just put my G-Shock classic on so I could reply too.

      • I have a Seiko (tank) SWR049 which I love, because don't always rotate my automatics enough or feel like wearing certain watches based on my mood/event.

Lol what a silly thing to say.

hahah I have a couple of Casio Quartz but the rest are all Automatic Mechanical watches which I love. I'm just pulling some legs here lol

        • Gosh you definitely pulled the legs lol.
I also have a mix. For me a purchase has to be aesthetic purpose first and mechanical function second.
One of my most expensive watches is a quartz.
But it's beauty is unrivalled in my eyes.

          • @maverickjohn: It's all a personal preference at the end of the day.

Which watch would that be, the quartz one you talk about? I'm fairly new to watch collecting hobby and only have 5 at the moment, nothing crazy but love them all.

great deal watchnerd…pity we most missed out due to amazon being aholes

      • +1

seems to be the case that price drops if stock hasn’t moved for a while and once they get to a certain stock level price goes back up …..same with lots of stuff on amazon ….

Just found this Skagen for $70.03 delivered but not going to post it because they will prob jack that too.
    Camel.

this one's only a small discount compared to the OP watch being reduced from $338 to $66

      • +1

Don't pay attention to RRP, better to look at Camel average price.

But yes the Wenger was a better deal.

  • First one of these watch deals I would have considered, this looks cool

  • How do I find these mad watch deals?

    • +3

The easiest way is to subscribe then you'll get notified when I post a deal.

The best price hike in Ozbargain history
    $65.71 to $338.22. Wow!

It might be a Swiss Watch, but it just looks so simple and basic, I find it hard to believe it'd be worth the $65 (even if I was able to get one)…

but it just looks so simple and basic

I guess that's why this style is called a minimalist watch.

I find it hard to believe it'd be worth the $65

You should see the prices Daniel Wellington get away with. At least this one has some better specs & it's from a brand that has heritage.

I have one of these - the cream dial Wenger Urban. Also bought (few years ago) on an Amazon deal. Have to say I never really liked it and regretted even buying at the $50-60 price point. As @Deadalready mentioned, it might be Swiss, but there is nothing special about it to differentiate it from anything else and the dial is quite plain. It just gets no wrist time because I'm either wearing my Garmin, or something mechanical for a more special occasion.

The best thing about it is the strap is fairly nice quality leather, but it is 22mm which is hard to use on another watch.

    • I have some watches with real jerk band sizes, 16mm, 21mm and 23mm bands :/
