As I was thinking about going to the store today to get this exact model this deal popped up. How did you read my mind op?

  • Urgggg I waited so long for this but ended up just buying the crucial blue 1 TB from the eBay Plus sale just last night as a cheapo alternative to last 2-3 years

    Too late to cancel 😭😭😭

    • just return it? ebay plus has free return postage labels

Very good price but no steam credit promotion to make it sweeter.

    • Yep… Got the $40 steam credit… Bought few weeks ago from Umart for this price less $20 Klarma offer

      • 2tb came with $60 credit :)

        • Oh yeah… It hasn't come through yet though

          • @Logical: Took a month for me, submitted 05/05, received 03/06.

I know it's high end tech but man. Yeah nah. I'll be waiting for nearly half this price before i cave.

    Probably at least 12 months

Not popular comment but same here

      Thanks for the update.

      • No problem at all, I'll let you know, when I feel the price is reasonable.

  • What’s one utility (other than gaming) for such high speeds and capacities?

    • building a supercomputer

    • +1

For contents creators to have lots of file transfers. Though Kingston KC3000 is better rated for that regard with higher speed and TBW.

    • Even PC gaming doesn't utilise these speeds yet, still waiting on more games to implement Direct Storage.

  • Nice price.

  • How would this go for expansion for PS5?

    • It's one of the recommended drives for PS5, another is the WD SN850.

    • It's great for the PS5. Just pick up a cheap heatsink to go with it, like this:
      $13 - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175221896670
      or
      $18.50 - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324492200271

    • Only thing to bear in mind is that Samsung in their eternal wisdom have made this the only drive that requires a software update (must be installed in a pc nvme slot for update through samsung magician software) in order for the ps5 to read/write at the advertised speeds. Theres a drop off of ~ 750 - 1000 mbps otherwise.

  • Can't wait for the day 2TB M.2 gets around $200

  • 2 weeks on and this is still $369, is it worth buying or waiting for Amazon Prime Day deals next week?
