Teenage Rouge Bikies Driving with Loud Motorcycles Late in The Night

Hi, not sure if it’s a right place to post this but I’ve got some good responses in the past so posting it.

I’m sure many have seen bikies in their loud bikies driving all around. I’ve got a problem when some (I think two) teenage looking bikies drive at night in their modified loud bikes. This was not a problem for me earlier but I’ve got a baby daughter at home now and it just so much nuisance when we see her wake up to this noise in the middle of the night and wanted to check if anyone did anything about it and share their experiences. I think it’s horrible thing to do.

I’ve got no information shut the bike make/model/rego. I think the kids just live nearby haven’t followed or tried to find out. I’ve tried to get a photo and video footage but it just doesn’t come clearly at night and they are pretty fast.

Anyone got any suggestions how I can deal with this? I’ve know there is a police crime stoppers website and all but it asked some mandatory info which I don’t have. I’ll keep trying though to get hold of the rego.

Thanks,

Dr-SL

May be it's time to move?

    • +4

That would be tad bit extreme. Not keen on moving because of it.

        The alternative is flogging.

        • +7

also a bit extreme ,don't think OP wants to be flogged

    • Not sure if you're joking, but I've actually moved house twice due to repeated noise.
      The one benefit of renting.

These teenagers are of a reddish-brown colour? 😆

In all seriousness, if they come around at the same time, perhaps have a chat with your local police and see if they can patrol the area? Maybe try the snap send solve app?

Before you go spying on them again, why not just have a kindly chat with them and explain your baby wakes to the noise, etc, could they please keep the noise down?

If the response is negative I'd recommend exercising some self discipline and live and let live. Also talk to your baby about what's waking her and that it's just the way some people are in this world, noisy, nothing to worry about.

Then sing her back to sleep to the refrain of motorcycle exhaust notes.

Are you talking about reasoning with teenagers?

Send the bikies with a louder bike.

    • +1

So you're going to stop them while they're riding? By like waving your arms or what?

    • Before you go spying on them again, why not just have a kindly chat with them and explain your baby wakes to the noise, etc, could they please keep the noise down?

It's not "spying" if it's on a public road. Weird choice of words.

And how can you have a "chat" with them when they are hooning by in the middle of the night? Scream at them "hey mate, can you pull over so we can chat?"

100% if a teenager is on a motorbike making sounds like this at night, we all know what the reaction will be if you ask them nicely to stop. Why even make this suggestion?

      • I have a feeling JH100's response was tongue in cheek.

    No…

follow them home and sit outside their house revving your car after they've gone to sleep.

exaggerate to police and say you think you saw them brandishing a weapon before they got on the bikes (it's easy to mistake things in the dark..) coppers usually don't do anything unless they absolutely have to.

Park outside, 6am, play Absolutely everybody with windows down, max volume, and a pair of noise cancelling earphones.

No… Depending on your neighbourhood, assuming it is has advanced from the stone age, speaking to the kids nicely is probably going to work unless their attention is to piss people off on purpose with the permission (inaction) of their parents. - letter drop without name if that helps.

I would NOT go out to speak to them like others are suggesting - if you do that, then they would know where you live… and if they take offence to your questions… (And this isn't just about bikies, I'd give the same advice even with other loud vehicles or pedestrians).

Best thing I can think of is to install double glazed windows and soundproof the doors. Perhaps plant some shrubs in the front yard. Things like that to muffle the sound.

    • Yeah, wasn’t going to reason with them. It’s risky and things might not go well with that suggestion. We sleep in a different room to avoid the sound as much as possible but it still gets through as it’s just so so loud. Will think about the double glazing windows. Thanks

      • Well. Then go buy two bananas on sale, and one banana in each exhaust.

Noisy traffic is an unfortunate fact of life when you live in a busy area.

You could Talk to police about increasing patrols IF these bikes are ACTUALLY causing trouble (doing frequent laps, burnouts, speeding, other damage etc). If they are just driving by with noisy bikes there isn’t a lot that can be done.

Baby will probably learn to live with it - provided you remain calm and composed when returning the bub to bed/sleep. If you are stressed, your baby will smell it.

since ive been WFH so much ive been noticing heaps more noisy cars

just find their number plates and send an anonymous tip into the EPA, they should defect any cars with loud exhausts

  • You wake up in the morning to crying. Care for your child for the whole day. Finally get them to bed so you can enjoy your 2 hours off before the cycle begins again. And some inconsiderate piece of :poop: wakes up your kid. This makes the blood of every parent I know boil. It’s like you are being robbed of your whole day. I’d be all up for a bit of confrontation

    Just put you don't know.

You can also just call the cops and tell them some hoons are hooning.

    and finally https://www.epa.nsw.gov.au/your-environment/noise/vehicle-no…

  • Rouge Bikies

    They wear makeup?

  • Fast, loud, late in the night (dark?). Helmets or not? Number plates, headlights? Trail or road bikes?

How do you know that they are teenagers? O^O

They are not 'bikies', they are hoons that chose motor bikes as their type of toy.

Crimestoppers is your best option. Do not approach or make yourself known to them, particularly regarding their antics. If you do they could make a good guess as to who reported them. If your description is correct(ish) you won't be the only one calling Crimestoppers, the more people that report them, the more police will patrol..

  • They're teenagers. The police won't do anything unless they have a certain skin tone.

  • Bikers not bikies…

Sounds like friends or family who all ride loud bikes.. very different from bikie gangs.. don't confuse the two.

If they are bikers you may have some success talking to them or parents.. maybe..

    If teenagers well, Good luck…

  • White noise machine helps masks other sounds. I recommend one to help kids sleep as a must have item.

  • Make more money and leave that suburb

    • Or make less money and move to a more affordable suburb.
