ST. ALi Cold Brew 2L Goon Bags $21.60 + Shipping (Free Shipping with $79 Spend) @ ST. ALi

92

ST Ali currently have their Wide Awake and Orthodox Blend cold brew coffee in 2L goon bags on sale.

Previously when I've purchased them they've had 6 month expiries with the recommendation to consume within 2-3 weeks of opening. You can easily get 50 serves out of these and I use them for both the office (cheaper than buying from the cafe) and for cocktails as well.

Free shipping for orders over $79.

Shipping for me (to Brisbane) is $12.65 for one bag or two.

It doesn't give shipping estimate until last stage of checkout so hopefully I've saved some people's time.

Yep that's Shopify for you 😉

      • Also with this, shopify saves your email if you just go through to check shipping (i.e. not going through with the purchase). Always check shipping with a fake email to avoid nefarious companies using the info (not saying this vendor does this, but it's happened in the past with others)

  • Interestingly the bundle is more expensive https://stali.com.au/products/cold-brew-bag-bundle

cheaper than buying from the cafe

What does it taste like though? I mean International Roast is even cheaper but not so easy to drink.

    • Comparing cold brew to instant coffee. Cold brew is significantly better.

Pretty good value, I think this product hits a large consumer market. Anybody who can't be bothered getting a grinder, beans and cold brew jug and waiting for 8 hours (A lot of people).
Obviously it's not comparable to freshly made cold brew since it's a concentrate but it's cost effective and you can use it as a substitute for dissolved instant in coffee recipes. I've also been to some dodgy cafes who use it as an espresso substitute for cold drinks so in a sense it's café quality? Good enough for most people so to speak…

  • Anyone instantly get first year university flashbacks when they saw the word goon or is that just me?

The other thing that came out of this is that employees said the owner has been pretty terrible in many respects…

    Don't give them a cent.

  • Personally I had no idea about the various controversies surrounding this business. So thanks to those that shared.

I found some alternative coffee in goon bag products at a place called soul origin.

If anyone has other suggestions I am keen to hear them as I am a fan of the convenience of the goon bag.
