Looking for a New iPad/Tablet

Hello,

My poor old iPad Air really needs replacing soon as does my husbands.
They won’t take any new apps, are slow etc.
We are going to Europe next year for 3 months so will need something other than a phone.
Don’t know wether to get another iPad or if we should get a Samsung tablet.
We will want to transfer stuff over, however our phones are Samsung.
What will be the easiest do you think ? To transfer from iPad to iPad or if that’s still possible, to transfer photos for example from Samsung phone to Samsung.

Then….price. Which would be cheaper ( so many variations ) and does anyone know of any good deals ?

We use for the usual stuff, but I do like to blog when travelling and I store my notes on the iPad now rather than a wad of printed stuff.

Haven’t had to compare or make this decision before. It’s years old.

Thanks for any help.

just stick with ipad if that's what you know.

Transition from old to new device is very smooth especially if you have icloud backups enabled.

    • I do know android as my phone is Samsung, I guess I’m also trying to figure out if it’s easier to have both my phone and tablet Samsung, any benefits to that ? Thank you.

      • I generally back both up to Onedrive as I have 1 TB of storage, whereas Googledrive is only 15GB. I have to keep cleaning it due to the large amounts of emails I have on there.

        • Is onedrive easy to set up and what’s the price for that if you don’t mind me asking?

          • @Frangipani: It's part of a yearly subscription with Microsoft 365, formerly known as MS Office 365. Usually @ $99-129 per year, however ring around your mass merchants, and see if you can buy it cheaper over the phone etc, instead of RRP thru Microsoft.

I'm holding back for the basic iPad to have USB-C, to replace existing 5th Gen. I did see some iPad Airs for sub $800 recently that were USBC.
Other option is to take advantage of the deals that Samsung have trading in your phone for a Galaxy Fold3. Since I purchased one, I hardly use my iPad (except for Music, however the same App is on Android).

    • My phone is pretty big, S20 plus
But I still prefer the iPad due to my eye issues.
