680

Some VERY good prices in Business Class (and economy) to Europe at present. Over European summer I'm seeing these from 9k to 16k (Vietnam, Lufthansa, United, Singapore, Emirates etc), but to get this RETURN in Business for these prices is excellent.

Also some discounts on hotels available in London (up to 57% off) /Paris (up to 59% off).

So cheap. Got one for all available destinations.

It is so cheap, but I find it hard to believe you're being sincere.

      • I'm sincerely being hypocritical.

Love the combination of incredibly vague comments and OPs sincere efforts to be helpful.

OP: I want to fly, but I won't tell you where, when, my origin or fare class. What's the best price you can do me?

    • +18

Depends on how you feel about ending up in Tajikistan ;) (Not knocking it, I loved the M41 highway!)

      • +5

I drove the Pamir Highway back in 2015! It was one of my life highlights! I did it in a 1 litre Suzuki hatchback. In winter lol We went 28 hours without seeing a single person. Quite stupid and dangerous in hindsight, down to zero spare tires. It was midway point of our 35,000 km drive from London to Mongolia. Thanks for bringing back fond memories!

        • That's awesome.

        • Amazing! I backpacked from London to Mongolia, took me 4 months and some of those places are surprisingly hard to get transport without local language, let alone the visas etc. I'd love to do the Mongol Rally, but after doing the Rickshaw Challenge in India gave me panic attacks for years after, I suspect those days may be behind me :/

Any gold coast to brisbane in July?

    • +1

      from? business or economy?

    • +1

you must be a gov "servant" to contemplating that flight. In which case it will be free and carbon neutral.

      • Not necessarily, my non-gov cousins flew that flight to my wedding! :D

        • Lol I stand corrected. It wouldn't surprise me if that flight not only exists, but is very busy.

          • +1

@Charity: I couldn't understand it though, surely if a couple of people are flying, a car service or even taxi would be cheaper or at least a lot quicker.

What airline operates OOL to BNE? Haven't seen this before

          • +1

@Forenti: The poster didn't say it was OOL - maybe they meant one of the other Gold Coasts, like:

        • Airport train doesn't count

  • +2

I rather fly to Vietnam and spend that money in accommodation 😆

    • +3

Can also drive to your next suburb and spend that money on groceries…

      • +9

Nah but I rather fly in cattle class for 7hrs ? And stay in first class accommodation for two weeks in Vietnam.

        • You could also do both!

    • +2

You can't spend that much on accommodation in Vietnam. Even 5 star haha

      • You can surpass it easily if you really wanted to! Vietnam is not all Ozbargain friendly!

  • Anything to Europe in economy from Sydney? Mid sep to mid October. Prices have been pretty terrible (~2.3k return) when I’ve looked. Thanks!

    • +12

The trick is to get there cheaply. That sounds stupid, but don't have a plan to fly to say London. Just 'anywhere' in Europe. So I know that there are often reward seats with lower taxes to say, Madrid, Spain. Then you hop on a cheap ryanair flight to London :)

In your case, I'd be looking at Athens or Berlin as cheap entrance points (and Berlin is conveniently close to Munich for Oktoberfest…) as they're often on sale.

And depending on your level of comfort - eg Scoot can be tight if you're tall, but you can definitely do cheaper than 2-3k return this way.

Some example below for those two cities. A quick search looks like Athens is on sale at present, but if you prefer Berlin or other cities, do similar searches and keep an eye on prices. There are so many low cost airlines in Europe that it's relatively easy to hop by plane or train between countries. Even bus/ferries.

    • 2.3k is terrible? 1.8k was the cheapest I could find 20 years ago!

Has anyone flown business with Vietnam? Wondering how they compare, I'm o ly every going to be able to afford 1 business class flight so I want to get the best bang for buck experience.

    • I haven't, but https://skytraxratings.com/airlines/vietnam-airlines-rating

Also I also can't 'afford' business class trips easily either, but I save points with Qantas and as a result have even flown first class on Emirates to NZ. And lots of those points without even flying - https://beatthatflight.com.au/index.php/2022/05/17/48-fast-f…

Did it a decade ago. They're fine, but have long layovers coming back (think about a stopover in SGN or HAN). But also check TG and SQ's J fares where you're going. They can be had from $6.1k in business for some destinations and don't have the long layovers…

If you're going to anywhere other than FRA, CDG or LHR, TK offers mixed class fares for $4.4k (economy to BKK, business to Europe) with two nights free five star accommodation in Istanbul through their stopover program. SAS offers decent business class fares too using Singapore Airlines codeshares too via Copenhagen.

  • Any good deals over christmas/new years?

    • +1

It's rare. My rule for Christmas time is usually to buy as soon as you know when you're going, and especially post covid a LOT more people are going to be wanting to reconnect at that time of the year this year :/

      • -1

I agree. My hope is that once the recession hits later this year, peoples’ appetite to travel will diminish and the J/F cabin will be again unmolested by travelling families and screaming entitled toddlers. Only screaming entitled adults please.

      • +1

        “Post Covid” lol

        • news-wise, covid is old news, WHO just declared monkeypox a pandemic ;)

  • Wow great deals, anything similar for New York mid Feb?

  • +4

Nice deal. One time I booked flight with Vietnam airline and the agent asked me if i wanted to upgrade to business class because there were so many empty seats, cost me only around $800 extra return, worth it anyway as flight was 8h+ each trip.
Their business class was alright, better food, better seat and service. Not much outstanding about it. As someone commented above, I rather spend that extra money on accommodation.

  • How can I get a notification or could you find me cheap business to London one way, or a path to London, mid November or early Dec this year? Chèers. From Sydney.

  • Hey Coke Cassie, check this post out!

Can you read my mind on where & when I'd like to go and get me some quotes to ignore.

Hey OP, looking to travel from Brisbane to Greece in business around April - June next year for 2 weeks. Flexible on dates and departure city.

  • Any future discounted flights to be announced for India (Bom) from Melbourne in Dec?

  • Is Vietnam air business class just mean you're inside the plane, not sitting / hanging off a wing?
I've seen some of their trains..

  • Hey Op, is there a way to search for discounted flights for a longer stay i.e. mel to europe/athens leaving end Jul 22 and returning November? Looking for 2 business flights for next month. Thank you!

  • Hey OP when does July 2023 return September 2023 open bookings wise? Can you only book 12 months ahead?

    • +1

Most airlines use the same underlying software which to my understanding limits usually to 365/366 days in advance.

  • hey I found a cheap flight with Malaysia from AU to London but when I go to book it takes me to smart fairs is this trustworthy?

    • I've used them before. Generally if you have no changes, don't do a typo on your passport or anything that requires changes, it's all good. OTAs like them can be a pain to deal with via email when things need changing, as you contact them, they need to then contact the airline who is often slow at getting back to them.
As a result, people who have had issues complain a lot on line about them, but it's usually because they expect things to be seamless and fast.

  • Any Melbourne to Paris or Rome for Singapore?

  • do ozzies require a visa for vietnam transit? looks like the vietnam airlines flights transit in saigon or hanoi?

  • Thanks for sharing, OP! Are there any deals on business flights to Lisbon from Sydney in Sept/Oct returning late December/early Jan?

If all else fails, i'll probably grab one of those SG flights :D
