Must be finally feeling some pinch.

Half their gyms are so out-dates, esp in Adelaide.

    • +1

Very true, probably cause they took over Fitness First and just reused their machines, which were already due for replacement…

    • +3

Yep. Clientele has dropped off heaps. It's only half full at best during peak now.

It would help if they play music that actually makes you want to lift.

    • No so here in brisbane.
I’m very happy with this gym/s.

  • I thought about joining a while back but not a good experience - and it seems from the Product Reviews things haven't changed:

Need to click “show summary” drop down box to see promo code section. $14.69/ week is a good price for platinum membership. (Price for my area).

One thing I’ve always liked about goodlife is is that the price you join up on stays the price even after your contract period ends. I’ve been on same price for 7+ years. Prior to that was with fitness first and the price increased every 6 months.

I was a founding member of the first fitness First in South Australia, later good life bought them and I was still paying $16 a month.

It pissed me off that people would joining up years after me and getting $13 or $14 a month on specials.

The only positive is that the price that is the same every year, where is Derrimuts changes the price like the wind which pisses me off and that's why I'm going to look at a new gym.

It's just that Goodlife gyms just do not have the same equipment as Derrimuts and other brand new gyms.

      • +1

derrimuts is great cause they have all the stuff you would want and plenty of it… just too many kids imho standing around flexing in front of the mirror and trying to impress their buddies and taking up space with little gym etiquette

        and no gyms in sydney…

        • +1

          I paid $199 last year, now it's $550

          • @[Deactivated]: yeah that was a covid special … excellent deal!! but even at 550, compared to other commercial gyms its still good… especially compared to sydney prices lol

do u know what the renewel is? what do they roll you onto after that term finishes?

            • @hippyhippy: Nah, they don't renew the price you joined at. I was on the 199, now to rejoin I have to pay the $550

              • +1

@Zitane: Owner has to subsidise his supercar collection.

            • @hippyhippy: It's $550 on sale ATM

Ryderwear gym here is $400 foundation, or $500 normally and that's weekly no contracts

      • Not true they do randomly increase prices.

    • Mines 14.69 for blue membership. Doe anyone know if that includes arena?

      • +1

No black is only one that includes arena.

    • Ditto.
Came here to see about a membership price for wife

Be careful with the JUMPSTART PACK, which is auto selected. Waste of money

  • Hey guys, just want to put in a little good word for Goodlife, (with some caveats). I've been a member for years, and I actually think this deal is fine. Comes to $56.36 for 4 weeks with 4 weeks free tacked on, which is good. This is an all-in membership ($48 if you are happy with just one club). If you are the kind of person who loves classes, Goodlife is great. The classes are frequent and the trainers are fantastic. I easily get my value on a daily class. However if you just hit the weights, there are probably better options, as some have mentioned.

One question for the OP. Do you know if this deal is eligible for renewals?

    • Regarding renewals, I am not sure. This is my first time with Goodlife.

    • If you like Les Mills. Goodlife is awesome.

    • No for renewals as per terms and conditions page on site.

  • Unfortunately my GoodLife near me is very profitable, very wealthy area and the weights equipment is 20 years old.

    They have huge classes tho.

Just not worth switching for me, it's less busy but Derrimuts or Ryderwear have more lifting equipment in SA.

    • +1

Burnside? That gym is passable if you just do weights. But yeah the equipment is old and the floorboards and way it's built make it very loud (in a bad way).

  • The fine print:

Goodlife will offer new members up to 28 days of Free Time on 18, 12 and 6 month membership packages, 14 days free on 3 month memberships in South Australia only, $0 Administration fee on all membership packages plus 30% off Blue and Platinum 12 & 18 month memberships that are purchased during the Offer Period using the promo code ‘EOFY30’.

Anything stopping me from choosing a "Home Gym" that is cheaper than the gym I will actually attend most of the time? On a platinum membership?

    • As I understand, 'Home Gym' would be where you pick up all your membership stuff for, I guess. And if you included the "Jumpstart" pack into your membership, (I believe) that is where the PT sessions will take place.

Other than that, I don't see any reason why not?
