  • Just bought this yesterday with my $5 eBay Plus, seem not everything can use code PLFY20

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313924190870?var=612630593921

    • That's not wireless charging.

      • I know just want to say PLFY20 didn't work on everything on their site.

  • It's a WHAT??? The suspense is killing me!

No idea if this is a good deal, but I've had this charger in my car for a couple of years now, it's great.

  • Have you got one which can fit a galaxy fold 3?

    I have one of these.

The clamp is great if you like to rotate your phone to landscape (for TomTom style maps, etc). Gravity style clamps can't do this (your phone will fall out when you turn the corner!).

The clamp is annoying if you forget to take your phone out within a certain time from switching your car off! So just remember to take your phone out immediately while the clamp still has power! (Never been a problem for me using it personally…but the number of times I have had to retrieve my wife's phone from the powerless clamp does my head in! lol)

The adjustable bottom arm is nice to accommodate whatever size phone you have. But it's kinda annoying if you and your partner/other drivers have different sized phones - ie. it would have to be adjusted everytime you switch between drivers. Or, you just do what we do, and leave the bottom arm at the right size for the larger phone, and rely on only the side clamps for the shorter phone (you have to hover the smaller phone in place in the right spot for the wireless charging, and wait for the clamp to close on the phone) - mildly inconvenient, but works fine. Note: this is only a problem if the two phones are different enough in size that you can't find a position where the charging coil will be in the right spot for both phones. (It probably doesn't help that we both have ultra thick heavy duty phone cases on our phones, which would interfere with the charging coil connection. A thinner case would probably require less precise location of the charging coil.)

The vent mount requires a secure "base" for the two feet to rest on. Our vents are angled, and the feet don't have a flat spot to brace against…so ours is not as secure as it should be. Not an issue if you have regular straight vents, with a flat area beneath, but just something to note if you have weird vents and were wanting to use the vent mount.

And the side buttons can be annoying to press, at least when the clamp is as unstable as ours is (due to the vents), because the whole mount swings sideways. If it's properly stable, this would probably be less of an issue.

But otherwise, has worked pretty well despite those issues.

    • Is the wireless charging feature actually good? I have the bases 10w version and found it to be crap. It does charge properly and when it does, the phone gets very hot

Charging seems to work fine on this for us. We have found it to be more finicky than expected in terms of positioning - but that could be because of our thick phone cases (and because I'm used to using a smaller phone with a 3-coil desktop charger, so phone placement was super super relaxed…the triple coil meant the phone could line up with any of the coils and still charge properly).

I think heat can be an issue when coils aren't aligned properly, so perhaps try positioning your phone different, to see if it's just misalignment if the coils? (You may have tried this already!)

        • Thanks. Do you think it will fit a note 20 ultra, I assume it can since the clamp opens to 10cm? The 10w version barely fits ultra

          • @BlitzR: I use s20 Ultra, which is slightly taller and slightly narrower. So Note 20 Ultra should be fine too.

            Mine is also in a Mous Limitless 3.0 case, which is: L: 170.7mm W: 80.7mm H: 14.1mm. lol

    • Does it rattle? I have a Choetec one and the spring loaded clips rattle if a phone isn't inserted into it. Lately it's rattling even with a phone in it.

      • Not that I have noticed.

I have one in each car, these work great. They stick to the dash if the dash is flat (even with a bit of texture) or window and come with an air vent holder to. Tested on Galaxy S20+, S22+ and Iphone SE and 13 Pro plus. Doesn't rattle or shake and holds phone firm. Galaxy phones do Fast wireless charging. best to use a QC 3.0 power pack with it.
There's a few things that I will nitpick.
The release buttons are a little stiff, previous model was touch to release, these are press to release.
Different size phones, you need to adjust the bottom bracket for phones to charge. not an issue if using 1 phone or not sharing cars.
First one I bought moved side to side, they replaced it and new one works great.

  • Had one. It overheated far too easily in moderately warm weather.
