[Resolved] Strange colour/brightness change after clicking 'deals'

Hi,

There seems to be an issue with colour rendering when clicking 'deals' from the home page, the brightness/contrast is altered significantly.

I've uploaded two screen shots here to show side by side, same browser and tab. The left is the default homepage and the right is after opening 'new deals' or clicking on the deals tab with the altered colour.

Strangely it doesn't just affect OzB, it affects all other tabs open after clicking on the deals tab, making images washed out and text on white backgrounds harder to read.

It happens in both normal and dark mode on OzB, in both Chrome and Edge, as well as incognito Chrome (to rule out extensions) but not on android Chrome.

All tabs return to normal after clicking back on the homepage, or into a specific catagory on the deals tab.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Edit: If anyone else experiences this, the issue can be resolved by disabling HDR. Thanks to @chickens for the tip.

i had something like this as well - it wasn't limited to ozbargain for me and was caused by HDR - try turning yours off and see if it's fixed

    • Thanks for the tip @chickens . Your tip was spot on, it is HDR related.

I've disabled HDR and there's no longer an issue going from the homepage to new deals.
Odd it's only been OzB that's triggered it for me, and my graphics driver is dated 28/4 so it's not a recent update that's triggered it.

      • i've had it on a couple of websites, but it's most likely something to do with chrome itself

        • Initially I blamed Chrome also, but MS Edge was doing the same thing.

  • @scotty already checking his schema now

  • I just tried to replicate it and I don't get any weird colour issues at all.
