Aqara Smart Door Lock A100 on The outside Door?

Hi everyone

I currently have Samsung SHP-A30 installed on the entrance door, but it has been playing up in terms of connecting to the internet and fingerprint access. So I am looking to replace it.

I was wondering if someone has had installed Aqara A100 on the outside door, where it’s prone to weather and how is it going so far?

From the Specifications

Operating Temperature: -25°C ~ 55°C

Operating Humidity: 0 ~ 93% RH, non-condensing

Does it have an IP rating? If not or if it is lower than IP65, I wouldn't be installing it outside.

6x is fully sealed against dust particles
x5 is sealed against low pressure water

You may get away with IP54, but I wouldn't go lower than that if your want reliable outside performance.

The other thing you have to consider is the UV rating of the materials used if it is installed in direct sunlight.

    • I couldn’t find any IP rating

As per this article it’s mainly aimed at apartments etc.

More problematic is the lack of any IP rating. The lock is rated for temperatures of -25°C~55℃ but nothing about ingress protection, and the operating humidity states no condensation. So this would be restricted to flats, which is disappointing.

    • Which door lock(s) would you recommend for a residential front entrance door?

I can't help answer your question but that Aqara is a great looking lock!
