EnergyAustralia or Ausnet Services incompetence??

So I signed up to Energy Australia, and they said that the distributor needs to come out and check the GAS meter. No worries ….

After 4 weeks being in my house, I have GAS connected and flowing (probably from my old tenant), but it’s not connected to energy Australia or been transferred to my name. Furthermore, I’ve received 2 messages from energy Australia saying Ausnet services cannot get access to my property and I must ensure there is sufficient access to it.

I have been at home for 4 weeks working, and no one has come. I then took a video to send to energy Australia and Ausnet, to confirm that access to my GAS meter is actually accessible from the outside.

Now energy Australia have told me I have to sign up again .. the ****???

I had some friends tell me this has happened to them, that workers say they came, but didn’t, say they couldn’t get access, get paid and go home. Am I being screwed over by energy Australia? Or lazy people who don’t want to work?? Energy Australia said I’m not being billed for this yet as it’s not activated yet. So it’s my old tenant being billed?

I had DOWNER on my property last Thursday checking my reading .. spoke to the guy, no issues.

I’ll post the video shortly of my walking to my gas meter from the outside ..

    While meter read is distributor’s problem, fact that EA makes you sign up again makes me want to give another retailer the business

    Ausnet, they are the company sent out to read the meter and give the reading to Energy Aus or any other retailer to transfer you over. I’m pretty sure at this point ausnet outsource their meter readers to a 3rd party, so it’s not even ausnet staff its some guy from a random company who prop can’t be stuffed..
