  • So if I don't have a Telstra ID already to start with, you can't access this deal?

Or if you purchase a new handset & plan you get a Telstra ID?

  • Wish the pro max was 256gb

    • +2

same. still biting this as 128 isn't too terrible if you offload into cloud/external drive regularly (especially videos!). but 256 is ideal.

edit: comment above mentions that 256 is also included so I image ints RRP of 256 - 300.

      • -1

If they have the pro max 256 on a decent special, I might get it.

  • I have a rather pathetic phone at the moment (which keeps freezing when I most need it), so I couldn't trade anything in.

Too many moving parts for my liking to actually do this - but on the Flip3:

    Telstra Day Price (128GB) = -$999
    Buy Galaxy S10 from Gumtree = $270
Trade in Galaxy S10 (JB Square Tradeup) = $90
    Bonus $500 credit = $500

    Total cost = $679

  • I wonder if they will discount M6 Pro?

  • -3

Can anyone with early access (Tesltra plus) plz confirm the price o the 256 pro max iphone?

    • +2

      1719

  • Was keen for telstra day deal if it had any of the s21 range, mainly s21+ but looks like it's mostly apple this time around!

  • Tour De France is on at just the right time.

  • Has anyone had experience price matching Telstra Day prices with Optus or Vodafone?

    • Don’t have experience but Officeowrks was saying their partner Optus would do it…

  • Anyone else having issues with TelstraID? I can login fine but cannot place any order. Chatted with Telstra support and they told me apparently my Telstra ID is not allowed to make order.

    • Did they tell you what the problem is?

      • Apparently I am not allowed to buy anything online. They put restriction on my account. So I need to go to store and get my ID verified and then the store needs to send email to the internal Telstra team to unlock my account. To much hassle I guess I will pass this time.

    • I am having the same issue. Get to the payment step and it says "something went wrong".

      • Ended up buying form Jb Hi-fi instead.

        • Same, 20 minutes in the queue they had the link ready to purchase and done. So much easier.

  • Does anyone know if you can purchase a quantity >1? I'd like to pick up two of the 13 Pro

    • +1

      Yes.

      • Thanks! Do you know if I just have to place multiple orders, or can I specify a Quantity value at checkout?

        • +1

          I did multiple orders.

  • Thanks - after spending an hour on the phone to Telstra earlier today to resolve Telstra ID issues, successfully purchased 3x iPhone 13 Pro tonight.

FYI: The discount doesn't show on the Product page, it only appears after you hit the blue "Next" button to add it to the Cart - then the discount shows up.

    Bed time!

    • +1

Yup, the original price showing threw me to start with too. Just kept going and got the discount. I bought the standard iPhone 13.

Thanks OP for the heads up.

The Tour De France stage finished just as I was ordering. It made it difficult to concentrate on the order. An Australian got up on the line to win the stage.

      Time for bed.

  • +1

Has anyone had luck with price matching?

    • +1

Tried 2 OW stores, no luck.

      • Which ones you tried and what did they declined it for?

    • +4

JB Hifi does. Done via online chat. They also offer 20% off accessories, not sure if it applies to other brands.

      • Genuine question but why would one want to price match at JB HI FI if you can already get the same price at Telstra

        • JBHIFI 10~15% off gift cards, that's why

          • @rainbowyen: That makes way more sense ty

          • @rainbowyen: Where's the best place to get the max off gift cards? The ones I checked only getting 2-4% off at shopback/nrma

        • Telstra not having stock on certain models with certain colours. Also, if you can pickup in store, it can be better. Telstra's packaging for these are not great so the outside cardboard box for the phone might be slightly damaged by the time it arrives at your place.

          And, gift card discount.

        • +1

Some people have issues with registering Telstra ID and local OW may not price match/beat.

        • Thanks, price matched via the chat - took 2 mins (after waiting for 20mins). Direct link. Easy.

          • +1

@Savealopoulos: Did through JB live chat too! I think the guy on the other line knew what we are after and just asked straight away, what colour, lol.

      • Started at queue position 11, got to 2 and then the chat froze and kicked me out.
Restarted and now at position 37 :(

        • ringing took me less than 2 minutes

          • @beesquared: Yes, unfortunately both locals out of stock. did get connected to a live chat agent and representative gave me the link within 2 mins :)

            • @tyc719: Can you pay in store with the Link to use Giftcards?

              • @smeng: you should be able to use giftcards from the link, its at the very top with gift card and pin boxes

                • @roshanrbb: yes i understand but when you do it online there is a limit of 8 giftcards i think? im going to need to use like 35 or so

                  • @smeng: oh i am not sure about the card limit, and are you sure there is also no limit on number of cards you can use instore too? if you don't mind me asking, from where did you purchase your giftcard? I am also trying to purchase gift card but not sure from where would be max % off

                    • @roshanrbb: 10% off from previous HIm/Her/Home giftcards from Coles. ive been stocking to purchase an iphone when the price was right for me. there appears to be no limit on instore gift cards as someone on ozbargin used like 80+ last time to buy a TV

                      • @smeng: oh damn, thats good.. but not sure if you can use the link to purchase instore, why not instead price match in store and pay there?

                        • @roshanrbb: i cant get these in person until like 7pm and i bet by the in stock all stock gone so im trying to secure a purchaes with an online link somehow

                          • @smeng: yeah thats tough luck, did you try and call instore to confirm if can reserve or buy using link somehow?

                            • @roshanrbb: excellent idea im going to try and call store now

              • @smeng: unfortunately it's only click and collect or delivery on the link I got.
Only got 2 gift cards left so im not sure on the 8 maximum sorry.

                • @tyc719: ok thank you for the information im trying to call the stores to reserve a phone now cheers

  • Anyone able to cancel their order? Looking to get the phone asap - so through price match seems easier

Just for buying a phone outright???

    • Yes, how annoying ..

    • You do have the option to add a plan to the handset.

  • No Google gear? Loved the February Telstra Day deal on the Google Nest Hub for $49, maybe next Telstra Day @Telstra?

  • +1

Get pro max now or wait for 14 max? I prefer the latter, tho I only get 90Hz refresh rate and an inferior chip, but it's only 2 months time for the next product you are only saving less than 20% off RRP now. Althogh 14 series will almost certain have a price jump.

    • -1

Yeah, this is a dud deal. Wait for the iPhone 15 Pro Plus SuperMax which is basically just around the corner. Especially if you want to burn some extra calories for free

    • I rekon 14 Max will be 60 HZ fwiw.

  • this or wait for 14 pro max in two months

    • 13 pro max is already a beast, get if you need because the 14 pro max will be pricey.

  • After wasting heaps of time on the phone with telstra getting my telstra account set up and working, today it failed and told me they need more id. I went to a local telstra shop who said they thought they had no stock, so go somewhere else. Saw on here the JB reference, call 13 52 44 asked if they would price match and they said yep, sure. Sent me an sms with a link to the iphone max pro 256 for $1719. All over in about 60 seconds.

    • -1

surprised they able to price match the 256gb model as the one on offer is only 128gb model

      • +3

Nah you select 256GB it's also $300 discount

    • For all these retail deals, Telstra needs to do create a better buying experience, asking an existing customer for the ID proof makes no sense, if the phone needs to be returned for whatever reason, the experience is even worse, whereas with something like JB HiFi, it's a simple walkin walkout experience.

  • Thanks OP, just bought an iPhone 13 for $1057.

  • +2

Not meaning to hijack this thread.
JB-HI are matching these prices on the Samsung S22 line for today only as well.
Anyone have any ideas where to get JB-HI gift cards to gain another 10%?

  • +2

why do you have to verify id etc just to buy an outright phone ><

  • -1

will JB price match Telstra day iphone prices?

  • +1

Got message the phone should be delivered on Saturday. Now to get a new case and screen protector.

Then off to see what I can get for the iPhone 7 second hand.

  • I have the galaxy s9 64gb atm and still have room on it after all these years (sitting on around 42gb atm), do I need to get the 256GB s22 or is the 128Gb enough for my needs? I realise you can't expand the memory on the new phones, so I don't want to be stuck with something too small, but by the same token don't want to spend an extra $100 if I don't need to. Not like I am an Insta infuencer or something taking heaps of photos lol Atm my battery lasts all day and I just recharge the next morning…usually down to around 30%-40% or a bit more by then, unless I am using the phone as a kindle device and reading for hours the night before. I can get the trade in for a tablet (samsung tab s2 9.7) at JB to get $550 off the price, so $499 for 128gb or $599 for 256GB, or possibly go for an iphone 13, although I have never owned an iphone….so would take some getting used to, plus no bonus trade in on that, so would be $999….bit torn atm. The S9 still works fine, but it is starting to get a bit long in the tooth, and has no actual trade in value and soon the tablet will be too old to get any trade in value at all

  • Just price matched telstra at jb hi fi. $1719 for 256gb pro max. Plus $500 gift card
    $1219 outright 69 pm for 24 months

    • are you saying they are giving $500 gift card and can be redeemed immediately?

  • Just got the S22 Ultra 256GB at JB as they have price matched.

Bonus for me was I got $150 trade in for my dying S10 and $500 bonus coupon for the trade in.

256GB Samsung S22 Ultra ended up being $1049 with the trade in bonuses.

    • +1

Hey can you please tell me how to get $500 bonus coupon?

  • Ordered very early while item in stock, 5 hours later got sms saying phone will be delayed.

Contacted Telstra and was asked to call local stores to see if they have stock which you cannot get hold of, cancel or wait 4-8 weeks with no guarantees.

Huge apology from Telstra support but could not help, I really feel bad for Telstra end user support right now. Telstra really needs to get systems in order, you would think it’s the first time they had a sale.

To me it feels like another preorder sales trick.

    • Went in store and they had plenty stock, had to cancel order using online support and was able to purchase in store with AMEX. Really good service in store

  • I'm not a telstra member. I want to buy an iPhone 13 pro max and pay in full (just for the $300 off)? Should I stick to a plan (I don't want any)? Is there any other constraint or obligation in this?

  • Just picked up S22 Ultra 256gb for $1699 -$750 JB-HI gift card by jumping on 12month/$69plan (100gb pm)
    Cost $949 at check out.
Heard the rumours you can still online chat with Telstra and try gain extra $10 discount per month in port over credits. Eg. bring it down to $59pm

  • I didn’t want any hit to credit score. So price matched/discounted (max 10% of RRP) at Apple through phone sales using Telstra deal and then used Apple gift cards from Coles (20X FB points). Probably not the best deal but got some discount ($1682 for 13 Pro 256GB and $168 worth Flybuy points).Couldn’t post this earlier as I bought just before store closed.

  • If anyone looking for 13 Pro 256GB Silver at JB Hifi here is a link. https://direct.jbhifi.com.au/RC675E

  • My iPhone just turned up. Impressive turnaround time.

  • Anyone knows how long I need to wait for iPhone 13 256GB (midnight) on backorder?

    • I'm in a similar boat, and also waiting for my back ordered iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB. Telstra have advised me that back order items are usually processed within 4-6 week..
