Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what the best shaving box subscription service is?
I'm looking at Gillette Direct and Dollar Shave Club, as I'd find it more convenient so I don't forget blades, cream etc. Wondering if anyone has any opinions.
Something like this will work out much cheaper and give you a much better shave. If you go through 1 blade a week then this will last you roughly 4 years. $17.25 a year for fantastic blades.

Agree with the old school safety razor recommendation but anyone starting out should really get a variety pack of blades to try as Feathers aren't the best for everyone (I found Perma Sharp to be the best for me). There's a bit of initial investment, though you don't have to go over the top, but once set up you won't find a closer shave or anything cheaper per blade.
Been using the Astras - seem to get the job done at a reasonable price. But as you said, get a variety pack to start

Best shaver I've got is the cheapo Parthenon 2 adjustable from Aliexpress. :)
To me, shaving is the biggest waste of time and money.

However beware, I've heard from friends that once you subscribe, they no longer come "shaved"!
I have never used shaving cream, just regular soap with a BIC razor. That's how I learned from my father. Is there a significant difference when using shaving cream ?
I would imagine that soap would clog up a razor quite quickly. Get yourself some shaving cream and give it a go. Get a decent cream though - Not stuff from woolies. Treat yourself
And ditch the BIC

Why do you need a 'subscription' instead of just buying when you need, or like the first suggestion, get an electric shaver?
(Just for everyone's info, I'm asian and I have two hairs on my chin that I need to pull out once every month or two😆, but I see that my mates who do need to shave regularly can do so pretty well without a subscription).
I just bulk buy at woolies when they are 1/2 price
Hey OP, what did you end up going with? I'm in the same boat at the moment. I hate shaving and I want a solution that's affordable, effective, and I don't have to think about it much.
