Reviews:
“Once you get hooked on Super X-Fi Battle Mode, it will be a nightmare to switch back to a gaming headset that doesn't offer this feature. You've been warned.”
- TECHPOWERUP

"This thing almost feels like cheating. Battle Mode is tuned specifically for first-person shooters…You'll regularly hear your enemies earlier than you otherwise would, which essentially gives you a competitive edge."
- TECHPOWERUP

"When Battle Mode is enabled, it is almost like applying contrast to an image, so the highs are amplified, your directional awareness becomes so much more apparent."

  • ahhh creative sound stuff. they were good once. but now there are far better brands out there for sound quality.

  • Lol. X battle mode is just glorified high pass EQ

  • Here is some genuine feedback on the SXFI Air (normal Bluetooth version).

Just to be clear I am not seeking any kind of compensation or repercussions from this feedback.

I purchased the SXFI Air 8 months or so ago for $120. I thought it was a good deal at the time but now I see it has been on ozbargain for $90.

The good: + Nice sound with SXFI mode on, I think it has strong amplification because it gets loud and has very hard hitting deep bass almost like at the cinema.
+ Even though it has some weight to it, it is comfortable to wear and blocks out noise better than any other headphones I have used.
+ Has SD card listening option which gives better quality sound and I think better battery life than Bluetooth. If you want to "browse" and play your SD card music you can do so in the App.
+ I like that the RGB light rings can show the remaining battery life, just press the power button for a short time while the headphones are off and the rings will light up either Green, Yellow or Red.
+ Charge lasts quite a long time in storage, I don't use them everyday so I notice it stays on "green" battery level for months before changing to "yellow", I try to charge them before they show as "red".

The bad: - I didn't get around to trying them out until 4 months or so after purchasing, but when I took them out of the box for the first time the headband leather was already disintegrating and coming off in tiny pieces if I scratch it accidentally when picking them up. Either the headphones were made a long time ago or the fake leather is poor quality. Leather earpads are still fine though, it's just the headband which was peeling from day 1.
    - There is a small "click" sound when you turn the headphones on, not sure if this is because of the strong amplification but it doesn't exactly make you think of high quality.
    - Battery life is not that great on the normal SXFI Air with Bluetooth at around 10 hours total, it is definitely on the shorter side of Bluetooth headphones battery life. Maybe this is because of the strong amplification I don't know. I knew about the battery life before I purchased but I thought it's just worth mentioning.
    - Even when setting the RGB light rings to "off" either in the App or the computer software, every time I turn the headphones back on again it defaults to having the lights ON. I don't need "RGB lights on" sapping the battery life. Turning RGB off is easy you just press the power button once quickly and it turns off, but sometimes I forget to do this every time.
