  • Hi Richard

Could you please give me an indication of how long the Bec Hardy SA Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 and Bec Hardy SA Shiraz Cabernet 2020 could cellar for?

Will also be getting the Bec Hardy SA Shiraz Cabernet 2020 and Lakeside SA Shiraz 2021, but I haven't tried straight Mourvedre before and am also considering the Export Label McLaren Vale Mourvedre 2021 given the 2021 vintage was supposedly a cracker. Can you provide any further info on the Mourvedre?

I've got a bit of a back log to work through before I could get stuck into the next lot I buy!

    Thanks

    Nathan

    • Hi Nathan. Thanks for the note.

The Bec Hardy SA Shiraz Cab and straight Cabernet drink well now and will do so for 3 year or so. They are more of a drink now style.

The Mourvedre is a wondrful drink. Drinks well now will age for 5 years. I had a couple of bottles at home this week. And yes, 2021 was a terrific vintage in McLaren Vale.

Hope that helps. Happy drinking! Have a great weekend.

      Richard :-)

      • Thanks Richard - much appreciated!

  • Thanks made an order. Been on the look out for a few months waiting for something like this to pop up.

    • Wonderful. Thanks @poglet! Cheers RD :-)

  • Hey OP,

How is the Mourvedre 2021 compared to the 2020?

    • +1

If you enjoyed 2020, you’ll enjoy 2021. I knocked over two bottles this week at home! Cheers RD :-)

      • Encouraging - I can't help but percieve some form of guarantee - will order

  • Thanks. Enjoy! RD :-)

  • Thanks for this, bought a doz. The Shiraz Cab was one of my faves from an earlier tasting doz. Seems that I’m moving into the cabs now!

    • +1

Thanks Sammajohnson! Enjoy! Cheers! RD :-)
