Vodafone 500GB Plan with 25mbs ~ Can You Still Get This?

Ok, Vodafone discontinued the 500gb offer for $65 (after $10CR) with 25Mb's unlimited data plan but is their any way to acquire it still.

Buy the plan off someone and swap number?
Still get it from some at Vodafone?
Request it back ~ common, help a brother out here!??!

Any assistance appreciated!

  • Hi there, I work for Vodafone. That plan was discontinued a while ago, and there's no way to get it unfortunately. The equivalent price now for $65 will you get completely unlimited data, except you only get 30GB of "Hotspot Data".

    • It’s the ONLY plan that suits my needs, the 30gb tethering rules, rules it out alas

I’m using felix but prefer Vodafone wifi-calling & volte

    • Ok word is that 30gb tethering small print is only being enforced when overseas and that most (on andriod) anyway tether way over the 30gb limit which makes sense but is this so much voda looking the other way or just not able on some platforms like andriod to detect it as Im told the V-APP does not even report and therefore monitor the thethering data! I have an iPhone and would this be my case too?

Next say I get the 30gb $20 ($30)PM data sim, once I use the 30gb on the UNL $65 plan, does it slow to 1.5mbs or does it too remain at full speed?!?

Any off the record assistance appreciated bigdumbhead

      • i haven't seen many people with this plan in store, and so don't have much knowledge as to whether it is enforced or not. my gut feeling is it isn't. I've actually signed up to this plan in the past to test the tethering, and I was able to download a ~40gb game on my ps5 without any messages or indication from vodafone that they had recorded the hotspot data (i have a samsung phone). of course, this is only one story from me, and so I can't say for sure whether I was just lucky or if that's the norm.

the unlimited $65 plan is not able to share data, so if you also sign up to a $30 (currently $20 as you noted) mobile broadband plan, then that sim will have the allocated 30gb to use before it is limited to 2 megabits/second.

        • Appreciated the reply's. So today I signed up and will have done 100gb today, most but not all tethering to my laptop and tv (and iPhone beta 16 and some mobile data speed testing while out in the 5G coverage) and you do seem right, no throttling nor any info in-app about it if did!

My bro has a bunch of voda products and a nice discount, can I transfer my account to under his and get the discounts or would I need to port out/in one day with him when where out'n'about?

          • +1

@srhardy: sorry for the late reply, i only look at ozbargain every few days.

good to hear it's worked out for you. if you transfer it directly in to his name from your vodafone account, I'm pretty sure the $20 per month discount would be lost. of course, i can't recommend that you port out and back in to your brother's account, but if you did do that you would still be able to have the $20 discount

            • @[Deactivated]: Yeah, the same to keeping the plan and moving up and down as do it in-store or over the phone no discounts but oddly do it on the Vodafone app and it gives you the discounted price!

  • Aren’t all wifi calling and Volte same? or vodafone has some special tech….

    • felix dont have it on the Vodafone MNVO as calls drop back to 3G and data stops for all intensive purposes while the call is in progress
