The ssd can be had for around $160 I think, and it's a 1tb hdd. Really? Also around $50.

The ssd is dramless, and I think you'd be better served with other $150 SSDs (like the gigabyte Aorus)

Edit - the free shipping makes it slightly less bad, but you absolutely must have some strange need for a 1tb hdd…

just getting rid of old hard drives by the looks of it - what target demographic is this?

Not bad for a budget new system build, OS on the SSD, file storage on the harddrive.

But then a 2TB MP600 and 4TB HDD can be had for $360. So it have to be a really budget build with little foresight into storage needs.

Not everyone stores a lot of data though. This would be fine for someone who just wanted to do some gaming and have their Steam library accessible.

Don't be fooled by the "980". This is a mid range DRAM-less PCI-e gen3 SSD. 970 EVO is better.

This is good to know, great comment.

Looks like a clearance sale to ship out the 1TB HDD that SE cannot move, 1TB SSD are going at around $150-ish by itself

  • Is the hdd a 7200rpm? Just googled and Amazon selling from $45.

    • Barracuda's are generally 5400RPM but weirdly the 1TB and 500GB options are both 7200RPM.
