Anyone found a reliable minoxidil and finasteride combination to buy online?

    • I've been buying from these guys for just over a year multiple friends have commented saying my hair is thicker. I still take a daily finasteride pill also.
I got there duel 15 with pg
      https://www.minoxidilmax.com/

      They also do topical dutasteride

That being said this is a good price for the rogaine

      • Did you use normal 5% (regain) for a while before moving on to this 15? was it much of an improvement? I think i might get some and give it a crack.

finasteride has worked brilliantly for me

i get generic 5mg tablets (proscar iirc) which is the dose for prostate enlargement or something, i just cut them in quarters and take them every other day, 4 months supply for under $20

would have lost my hair more than a decade ago otherwise

it's worked so well i haven't even bothered looking for any other treatment, the shampoo sounds like a hassle, of course when it comes to meds everyones different, YMMV

      • The two GPs I see would not prescribe 5mg tablets for me… currently paying $20 for 1mg every month :(

Been using Regaine for years with no results, with Finasteride in the past 6 months my hair is visibly slightly thicker but still still needs work.

Tempted to try Dualgen-15 With PG Plus from the link above now!

  • Are there any other participating pharmacies? Do you have a lowest price guarantee?

Just shave the head. Bald is fine. No need to add chemicals.

THIS! Although it is hard to come to terms with it and knowing that shaving your head is kinda 'giving in'.

I started losing my hair when I was 16 tried Rogaine, finasteride and a hair transplant over the years. All they did was slow down the inevitable (the transplant did 'neaten' up things a bit and the finasteride slowed down the hair-loss but it was all in vain).

After 11 years I bit the bullet and shaved my head because it looked terrible (had the doughnut ontop of my head as well as hair thinning ontop) and it was instantly better than clinging onto the garbage that was left ontop of my head - not only did I look years younger BUT made life a lot easier. It's been over 10 years since I started shaving my head and I look younger than I did in the days when I had 'hair'. I really wish I just shaved my head when I was younger rather that trying everything I did (bonus us you save money on not buying products but also on haircuts)

Did the same. I understand when you are young, but once you are over 30, I think it looks better than trying to hide the baldness.

This is a great Youtube channel

"…the transplant did 'neaten' up things a bit…"

        • How much did the transplant cost?
        • How long did the transplant last before they died out?
        • Did they take the follicles from rear / sides to add to top?
        • Do you have before / after photo's?
        • +1

I got it done in 2003 and from what I understand price and procedure has gone up and changed quite a bit since then.

I paid $3k for 1000 grafts; it was done by a plastic surgeon (I think) in Sydney (I’m guessing He’s retired by now because he wasn’t young).

He took The follicles from the rear and moved it to the crown and the front of the head (left and right sides). When I did it I was told I would need 3-4 transplants because of the loss I had. I don’t have before and after pics unfortunately and only did one transplant because of the cost.

The transplanted hair is still very much there. The hair grows coarser than your usual hair and, if you know what you’re looking for, you can see the difference in hair types (transplanted vs regular). I do have a massive scar on the back of my head, it wasn’t noticeable when I did it but since shaving my head it’s visible. It doesn’t bother me though and I rarely get asked about it.

          From my experiences:
          - Do I regret doing it? No. I was 21 when I got it done had a ton of insecurities about losing my hair as a teenager; I ‘needed’ to do it

          • Would I do it again? No. Embracing the baldness, shaving it, and changing my whole look did more for my appearance and self esteem than any attempts to keep My hair ever did (this is in part down to luck as to whether the bald look suits you)

@Gunnar: Thanks mate for sharing, losing hair at such a young age would have been tough. Transplant techniques have improved since then and they now just extract one follicle at a time instead of a massive scar at the back. The pinholes at the extraction points heal to be barley noticeable from what I have seen. The person who can perfect stem cell injections into the scalp to regrow hair will make billions as hair loss affects over 53% of men by the age of 40.

It makes me smile when women whinge that men couldn't handle it if men had periods. Would like to see how women would cope if they started to loose their hair at 21.

Will this work on my balls?

    • I have the opposite problem

      • +2

        That's Veet you're after then…

    • +1

no but if you chop the balls off, you stop losing hair.

  • Wonder if this works on beards…

  • Any chance of a price match, OP (pre-redemption)?

      • Legend ! makes it worthwhile to buy it.. Same receipt diff email id's and emails work !?

        • Sorry, I mean on two different promotion occasions! Haven't tried with same receipt or same address ways.

      • Was it an EFTPOS card last time too? How long did it take to arrive in the mail when you redeemed last time?

        • +1

Last time it was visa card (haven't used still lol). It arrived in 2-3 weeks i think, not too sure.

    • +1

      Hi there!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
At this time unfortunately I'm unable to match that price.

That being said we are getting a lot more stock in soon so I'll keep y'all posted.
      Cheers :)

  • Whats the expiration on these once opened? Do you have to use it within 6 months, or does it just have a generic expiration date (eg 1 year, regardless if you open it or not)?

    • Generally it's just an expiration date on the bottle. A bottle should never last you more than 2 months though.

  • +1

$50 can be used anywhere? or only at regain website?

    • It says they send you a $50 EFTPOS card

      • That card can be used anywhere?

        • I assume so but not sure.

        • Last time they send me visa card!

  • Does anyone have the last 4 digits of the product barcode handy? Got the invoice but haven't received the product yet, but keen to claim

    • 0136

That's from a box I bought months ago, so not sure if the barcode is still the same. I'm just going to wait for the new box to arrive before I claim in case they've changed it.

      • Can confirm its 0136

  • Anyone claimed yet?

Are we supposed to get a confirmation email or anything?

    • Wondering about the same thing. I didn't receive any confirmation email either.

      • Same here. Just saw a 'Thank You' on the page when I submitted the form.

      • same here, no confirmation email

  • has anyone got their $50 yet? i claimed on 15/7, still waiting

    • Not yet. I submitted on 21/7 and haven't had any confirmation besides the thank you or whatever on their webpage when I initially submitted it. I assume it will take a few weeks at least to get the visa card in the mail.

    • I have not received it yet. I submitted the claim on 19/07.
I just sent them an enquiry email for my own record.

    • just got my giftcard in the mail today,

having trouble activating it though, went to the website to activate and it keeps saying 'unable to process..' when trying to activate,

      has any1 successfully activated?

      • Just got mine today. Having the same issue when activating the card. I'll try calling the hotline tomorrow.

        • ok, lemme know how it goes!

        • +1

i've messaged live chat and got this reply:

          "Card Services
Hi ******, it's possible the card is already active. Some companies will activate cards before issuing them, or sometimes activation attempts are successful, even if it didn’t seem like it was. You can verify this by checking to see if a balance is available here at www.activ8card.com.au. If there is a balance, then it is active and ready to use."

          • @zorodluffy: Thanks mate. I didn't get a chance to all the hotline, but after reading your message I tried checking the balance, and voila it has been activated! So all good in the end. Thanks.

      • Did the card come registered post or just in a plain envelope?

I haven't received mine yet but it might arrive this week since I claimed a week after you did.

        • Plain envelope

  • sounds like a lot of trouble to get the $50 in the end?!

I've never used the foam, any specials/discounts on the Rogaine 5% lotion instead?

I feel that one has to use more of the foam as it stick to the actual hair instead of going to where it's supposed, on the scalp.

    • The process is vague, but in the end, with some patience and faith everything seems to have worked well. So really, we didn't have to do anything apart from submit the claim, sit back and wait for a couple of weeks for the card to arrive and just spend the $50 :-)

      • Mine still hasn't arrived. I wonder if I should submit it again.

        • I resubmitted. All I got was a page that said "Thank you" afterwards. I'll see if I get the gift card this time.

          • +1

@warmfruit: That's all mine said, if it helps. Plain envelope arrived in the mail last week

            • @Last Seen: That's good to know, thanks. I've resubmitted now so guess I'll just have to wait. I sometimes get paranoid about this stuff not being processed or being lost in the mail.
