Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G Not Eligible for CommBank Card to Add to Samsung Pay App

So I have been using my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G with Samsung Pay using CommBank cards since its first release a few years back with no issues. Because some of my CommBank cards have expired and/or needed to be replaced as my CC account got compromised, I had to add them back in when I received the new ones. I have been trying that for last days but each time got an error message saying to contact the card issuer. So got on to chat with CommBank technical support. After a few hours of back and forth messages, the technical support person said that my phone is not eligible for CommBank cards to be added to Samsung Pay. Is that correct?

The last Galaxy phone that is supported is Galaxy 10 but not Note 10 Plus. I found that quite surprising that they support older phones and not the new ones. I have the latest software and security patch installed on my phone.

Is any one else having the same problem? How do you get around it?

    Edit: is you phone rooted, unlocked bootloader etc?

    • No my phone is not rooted nor unlocked bootloader etc. I have been using mine no problems until the last few days when I have issues adding the new cards.

    Has your card been activated, e.g. use it with an eftpos machine and punch in your PIN?

    Some card has this security feature and prevent it adding to samsung or google pay, and gives that error message. I don’t know why.

  • Not CBA, but when my wife's card was compromised and she tried to add the new one into Samsung Pay, we tried abou 3 times, but kept getting failed, contact issuer responses. But then when we checked the app, the card was loaded.

    So could just be a communication error perhaps?

    • Same issue as Samsung Pay. I think the issue has something to do with my particular account and technical support was not able to work out what it is.
