This is probably the best price ever, according to camel x3 anyway, which is accessible to everyone.

I bought the Challenger k2 early today (shipped already), but may return that one.

I may order the Challenger k1 later, so we will have/try one explorer k2 and one challenger k1.

  • Read the reviews. Although this is a larger saving the concensus is the challenger is more maneuverable and a little more splashproof.

I'm sticking with the challenger based on the you tube reviews etc.

I saw the challenger deal and then went with this when I saw it instead. More comfortable, lighter, and easier to disassemble. Better for me as I'm a casual.

Disagree with the earlier point about the reviews preferring the leaner Challenger. Yes it is longer and more maneuverable, but it's anything by splashproof with it's sunken design and after digesting every review and video I could fine online, I went with the Explorer (bias declared!). Whilst it is considerably broader which mitigates against speed, it does so in favour of comfort, stability and a slightly tougher fabric. Even though the Challenger is slightly longer, the enclosed design won't allow two kids with an adult as well as the Explorer does. Also, the explorer has three air chambers compared to two, making it easier to limp back to shore.

Great price for those testing the waters in the kayak market.

    • you sold me on it but now its sold out :(

    • +2

I was actually close to cancel the order 5 mins ago for some reasons, and then the boss decided we would keep both for now (will sell one later after we try both). The reason I wanted to cancel the order was partly due to the challenger k2 has already been shipped out. I am not sure if it will be easy to return that one, consdiering its size.

By keeping both (for a while), I am not going to buy that k1. We own two iSUPs, which can be used as a kayak with a seat, which I do have and tried in last summer. It performed very well carrying the whole family :D. (The iRock performed better than the King.).

What I really want and almost purchased is the full dropstick Aqua Marina Air-K 440 Tomahawk 2-Person Inflatable Kayak 440cm (it was on sale which ended yesterday).

Anyway, hope the deal I posted did help some fellow ozbargainers.

      • After landing both units at near enough to half price, I'm sure they'll serve you well.

Thanks for the great, albeit short-lived deal. To the swift go the spoils on Prime Day…
