Business Class on LATAM: Sydney to Auckland (1 August - 20 December) from $993 Return @ Beat That Flight

170

There's a weird anomaly with LATAM flying their Dreamliner between Australia and Chile - they do a stopover in Auckland. Naturally the SYD->AKL isn't always full, and as a result they're currently offering a great business class fare.

For comparison, I'm seeing Jetstar economy from ~$550 return, not including bags, and AirNZ/Emirates return business from high $1300s and $1600s respectively.

I've compiled a selection of the best dates I've found below, but others probably exist too.

Sydney to Auckland

Business class on a 3 hr flight? I wouldn't bother

Normally I'd agree. But paid $900 return in April in Economy, I'd be pretty happy to have spent $100 more…

Yeah, apples & apples, it's ~$550rtn econ on the same flights.

        That's a lot of duty-free booze.

It’s probably half the price of qantas domestic business to cairns, so a good deal for those wanting to stack the status credits on qantas. I paid about $800 return for these flights pre Covid it’s a nice trip in the skybeds

  • Anything available from Melbourne in December?

    • LATAM doesn't fly to Melbourne unfortunately. However you can still put in any dates you want at https://bookings.beatthatflight.com.au/ to see what the cheapest tickets are.

      • Saddy no, they stopped that route after the pandemic began, there aren't any plans yet to reopen it on the short term, so for now, it has to be through sydney+auckland or just auckland. The Melbourne-Chile route was relatively new, and i think they were doing 1 flight a day (or less on average), so unless people start traveling more (unlikely due to rising fuel costs), i don't think they'll reopen it anytime soon.

3 years ago this was great, $350 was the lowest I paid going one way. RIP to those days.

LATAM are the worst airline I've ever travelled with. I was dumped in Santiago, Chile for over 24 hours without food and water. They failed to translate anything into English and the service was sub-par.
NEVER AGAIN will I step foot on one of their planes.

  • Has always been a good deal, especially when planes went to dreamliner.
Disadvantage is the early departure from NZ.
Food is pretty average, but seats are comfy - certainly a lot better than most Qantas and Air NZ tasman Business class flights.
Never had problem with delays, but have heard some negative stories.

  • "Good suggestions, I've never been to New Zealand, although I've spent half my life flying)
Is there a discount for business class or just information?
I'm just used to flying business, I take a lot of business class flights to Lisbon https://businessclassconsolidator.com/destinations/business-… to my family a year. i used to think business was expensive, but not if you know where to look)"
