Reviews for the 20,000mAh PD model aren't the best. This 2-star review had pictures of melted ports:

Reviewed in Australia on 16 February 2022
      Colour: 20000mAhVerified Purchase
Used it for roughly half a year and all off the sudden it started burning, just saw a little smoke wall, when I charged it. Same way I always have charged it.

  • Damn I just bought this a week ago for 42 bucks.

Definitely recommend this unit as it's one of the few in the world that can be charged with lightning cable. Which means you can charge your iPhone and power bank using a shared cable.

2 out of 2 Romoss power banks have failed on me. Never again

    • Looking for 20000mAh QC powerbanks with good build quality, any suggestions?

      • Everyone points to Anker. A little pricey but for the time being I'm still using a 10,000mAh "Pineng" powerbank from 5 years ago which is still going strong.

    • I've got 3, one of them is about 5 years old.

      Never had a problem…

    • Mine failed too. I got 5 years out of it tho so can't complain.

I think they use cheap prismatic cells, and they are very hard to open (they use strong glue and lots of it)

All my romoss powerbanks NO longer Charge AT ALL usb-C to lightning.

    Genuine cables, iPhone 10-13

I own around 15 different power banks and unfortunately this Romoss unit randomly swelled up after a few months of owning it which has put me off the brand. A shame because the prices are fantastic.

    • which ones from the ones you have are good?

      • I have a Cygnett ChargeUp Pro 27k which I bought in 2018 and is still going strong however it is on the bigger side.

For something easy to throw in my pocket I use the ZMI QB910 which is a 10k.

Other ones I own but don't use as much are from Xiaomi, Blitzwolf, random brands I've picked up on deals from Target, Big W etc…

  • Thanks for all the feedback. I'm going to stay away from Romoss power banks.

Adding my Romoss experience, I've used 4 Romoss power banks over the last 2-3 years, 2 x 20,2000, 1 x 26,800 and 1 x 30,000mAH. In fairness they have worked well for about 2 years with moderate use, however, both the 20,000's are now dead and USB-C port is faulty on the 30,000mAH. I think I'm going to give the Romoss's a pass from now on and go back to Xiaomi or Anker.

+1 for died after a couple months.

I've had my 26,800mAH since March and still going strong. Haven't had any problems so far

My xiaomi powerbank from 2015 still works fine. How do they even fail?

    • Seems like cheap they use cheap parts so higher failure rate.
