  • anyone got a clue how it compares to this Razer mini

Pretty thorough review but basically razer mini = really good mic for the price

Can't comment on a direct sound quality comparison, though the Yeti is a classic and have heard very good things about the Seiren Mini too. I'm sure there are audio comparisons on Youtube.

This is probably Yeti deal you'll find in a while, but the for the average user (just voice, calls etc.) the Seiren Mini will likely be enough. Yeti obviously has more features (pick up pattern, headphone pass through, mute button, etc.).

Also consider size on desk + ease of mounting if you're planning to get an arm / stand of some sort.

I'd get the razor mini unless you're doing podcasts or asmr

    • Razer mini has no mute button which is a major issue for many

How does it compare to this deal:

Deal of the day for Prime Members: Shure MV7 USB Podcast Microphone for Podcasting, Recording, Live Streaming & Gaming, Built-In Headphone Output, All Metal USB/XLR Dynamic Mic, Voice-Isolating Technology, TeamSpeak Certified - Silver

    • shire is good

    • +2

The shure is a much much better mic in terms of quality and sound. Does this matter so much if you're only talking into it? Probabaly not.

Honestly there are much better and cheaper options than the yeti, but the yeti is popular with streamers so it has that weight behind it.

A shure sm58 (or many dynamic mics) is hands down better, but all of these are pure overkill for "just streaming" and you have xlr vs usb and adapter and all of that
something like a mod mic https://www.pccasegear.com/products/47979/antlion-audio-modm… is plenty for anyone that doesn't have an integrated mic on their headset

    • Thanks. Got this instead

    • Do you have to buy a stand for this seperately?

    Really good price, nice find.

  • thanks OP

How does it compare to the Rode NT-USB mini

  • +1

This is a good mic BUT it's not for everyone. It got famous cause it looks good and sounds decent but if you got a small room with hard bare walls (ie typical study), it picks up all the reverb and tends to sound terrible.

    • Yes, I found out the hard way

    • so what do you recommend for small room??

    • I like the mic - but yes, I have a similar experience. I think it's been a big step up from what I was using previously, but I do get some echo.

Do you have other mic's that you have tried that are better in this area, that are not headsets, without kitting my study walls with egg cartons? cheers :)

  • Bought. Can anyone recommend a good quality webcam that would be on the prime deals? First time Web cam buyer here. Usually jump on my macbook for zoom and its garbage

    • Elgato Facecam - https://amzn.asia/d/aRj6LqA

    • +2

If you have an iPhone then the next macOS and iOS software out in spring will support easily using your phone camera as the webcam of your Mac. The feature is called continuity camera.

Edit: just thought I should add, it is expanded functionality that is being added to the already existing feature called continuity camera.

  • Thanks OP, got one :)

  • The Shure M7 in black and silver is also on sale for like 179. Considerably better mic in every way. Has USB and XLR - so upgradable in the future. Also built for talking/speech in particular.

    • The black isn't $179, if so please link!

I need a mic for work related Zoom calls. Is this good for that? I am looking for a mic which can pick my voice from a distance, meaning sitting at the chair and not having to lean into and speak right in front of the mic. Will this serve the purpose

    • -2

This won't be good for that, it's notorious for picking up noise from a distance

    • +1

This mic is good for what you are looking for.

  • Is it good for karaoke?

  • +1

How does this compare to the higher end blue yeti microphones?

  • Great microphone. I swear it made me sound better than Beyoncé

  • This or the shure for zoom calls and other voice recording in a slightly noisy common room?

  • Thanks OP for sharing. Purchased before deal expired.
