      Probably some discounts to come December but then again inflation is going up.. I wouldn't be surprised to see the consoles go up in price instead.

        Shouldn't go up. Prolly stay at $749 for at least end of this year. Reduced the size of the heat sync and removed the copper so cheaper to manufacture.

            @postform: Removing the copper was a strategic move as the trend of electronics and chip supply/demand was causing pressure on RRP. Certainly agree to your point though new cars are a different equation as so many parts come from multiple providers.

              @klaatu: Let's see. I hope it doesn't.. but a lot of things are increasing in price not cause of raw material but labour. Either way I'm waiting for the console to be released as is.

              For instance RM Williams increase their boot prices. I was shocked myself.

            @postform: Sony will not increaase the PS5 console RRP price, unless it upgrade to PS5 Pro or PS5 Slim model with higher RRP prices.
            Sony make 90% profit from the software (games) and subscriptions/memberships, not hardware (console).

        Wow this scalping gig really is a lucrative enterprise eh. Especially given how much money those coveted Woolies reward points must be worth, gee whiz.

        I say screw Sony, their limited numbers of consoles (even if out of their hands), these ridiculous "deals" that are just notifications that this artificially rare commodity is available at all, and most of all the scalpers who think they're making actual money and providing an actual service when in reality they're just wasting everybody's time including their own.

        A PS5 is not a necessity, and I'm not supporting this ridiculous charade. There are other platforms.

          I think I made around 15k and a ton of credit card points. You fail to understand scale and the easy aspect of just ordering it and flipping it off on ebay (gumtree to eBay used to be just 30cents fee when it lasted)

              @Poor Ass: Not anymore on ebay. I just flip a couple now on marketplace or gumtree. The Golden days were when gumtree had that no fee thing with eBay.

              It was never going to be forever but it was a very good and easy money 2 years. Heck at the start even xbox series s was profitable lol.

      Different types of games. Use Nintendo for portability and for games exclusive to Nintendo. If it's available on both platforms get the PS5 version because it will almost always be better.

    This bundle seems the least popular one of all,it was the last to go out of stock at eb the other day. the digital voucher must be driving off the scalpers.

            @productred: Depends on when you ordered it. If BigW have oversubscribed stock v's orders then the later orders may be cancelled. BigW have removed the bundle from the main console page, though left the add to cart active. Likely someone forgot to switch off the add to cart page. It may be a wait and see approach.

    Please let this work out. I got mine at launch but a mate has been trying for months with no luck. Ordered, paid, confirmation email, but won't believe there isn't a "actually we stuffed up" email coming until it's actually in my hands.

        I ordered my at 14:55 and they are still "picking" the order. Hope it doesn't suddenly turn into a cancellation email coz they have no stock to pick.

          Not that they would have even thought of it but it would be a good anti-scalper tactic. Leave the orders open and over-sell then ship out in reverse order as the scalpers are more likely to be the ones ordering first. Mine was ordered at 3:13pm, no shipping email, still picking.

            I'd say they didn't do it intentionally. Probably printed shipping labels/picklist with the oldest orders at the bottom and were just working their way down. As stupid as that is.

    BigW will receive and book in the consoles from SIE this afternoon. From there on BigW can generate the picking invoices and send you an email and tracking number.
    It will take up to 7 days for your console to arrive depending on city you are in. If shipped today it might arrive by Wednesday.
