OzBargain’s Favourite Nail Clippers?

Brains trust, what is the Victorinox wavy edge tomato knife/Quilton/Eneloop equivalent of the nail clipper world?

I’ve bought cheapies in the past that don’t cut well and don’t last long.

Any suggestions for functional, durable, value for money nail clippers?

777 brand, made in South Korea.

The 777 clippers are excellent. My set has smaller and a larger clipper (as well as lots of other stuff). The large one is the best as it's more efficient. Both clip with ease.

If I bought again, i'd just get the large 777 clipper. Then add in a set of 'ingrown toenail clippers'. I got "mr green" for these for about $20 from aliexpress. These have sharp fine tips that will get in anywhere that you can't cut with the 777 clippers.

    • I have a 777 nail clipper last 15 years before it snapped……

Out of curiosity does anyone know if the ones on Aliexpress are genuine? (666 nail clippers go snip snip heh)

i use the scissors on my swiss army knife, especially good for toenails as the nail clippers aren't big enough for the big toe and end up making a mess of it, usually leading to ingrown.

don't cut your nails too short, that's what leads to ingrown, i used to get them a lot but when i stopped cutting too short i stopped getting them.

    Teeth, jk

    • Yours or someone else's? People would pay good money to chew your toenails off if you let them!

    Manicare for life.

    • Another vote here for manicare.

      • Third vote for manicare. Last one lasted 15+ years. It finally gave up the ghost and I bought a new one.. same quality. Nail always comes off, when you squeeze it I have NEVER had the problem of it getting stuck in the nail, or the nail bending. It was also under $4 when on 50% off sale I think.

Berkley fishing line clippers, yes they are made for fishing line but they are exactly the same as nail clipper. Best damn clippers for toe nails that I have owned. They never made it to my tackle bag. https://www.tackleonlineaustralia.com.au/products/berkley-st….

Specifically the KAI brand if they still sell them.

      • +1 KAI are great, very sharp and easy to use.

  • Sharpen the clippers you be fine

  • Best pair I ever had broke recently. Bocas brand, picked up at a random popup stall above a train station from memory…

Now I prefer the 360 rotary style to the typical fixed angle. Couldn't find a good deal on Bocas but very happy with this set:

  • Teeth.

  • Wow lots of great suggestions, thanks all. Not sure if this helps or makes the decision even harder!

  • These are the ones I bought earlier this year.
I even do my toe nails with them as they are that tough & sharp
I have used plenty over the decades, but these are the best I have used
When I bought them earlier this year it was cheaper than this

  • After watching how to clip your nails on youtube, it spooked me that I had been doing it incorrectly and have been on the hunt for a good nail clipper and perhaps plier style fingernail nippers, fingernail scissors, nail files just to prevent any ingrowns!
