Qld 44c kW Solar Refund Scheme No More Retail Feed in?

Recently received an email from.my electricity retailer (AGL) saying from 31 July that they will no.longer be providing the retail solar feed in on top of the 44c kw gov feed in

Anyone else got the same or is it just AGL?

    You're getting 44c a kw!?!

    • Fixed until 2028

    • Yes the old QLD PV agreement to 2028

Wow why does everyone not immediately put solar on their house in Queensland! Plus sunnier than elsewhere in the country!

        • Because not everyone had thousands laying around to put solar up.

          • @AdosHouse: You can get a loan - even with interest it would still be worthwhile

It expired many years ago, when solar was expensive, and most systems were small.

          • @brendanm: Oh fair enough. Lucky for the people that were able to get it back then

  • I'm still on 49c and yet to get any correspondence from Origin to say that it's ceasing. TBH I'm surprised it's stayed so high for so long.

Oh my friend on origin just said they received notice they will remove anything on top of the 44c gov FIT

  • check other retailers if you dont have a contract

  • I'm in SA. My letter from Origin on the price increases says my FiT has gone down from 50c/Kwh to 49c/Kwh. A reduction of 1c. It doesn't break up that 49c into the retailer provided part and whatever it was I was guaranteed for 20 years back in 2009 when I got solar. If that was 44c, then I'm still getting 5c on top of that from Origin.

    • good to know

  • Cries in Canberra! 8c FIT :(

    • same in QLD but 44c is the old rate when people locked that in more than 8 years ago

        • yep old school prices

but you would of broken even already
