had it at a food expo once. they were cooking chips. i would not call it a deep fryer, it wasnt as crispy (or to be fair, oily) as a real fried chip. I would liken it more to a mini rotating oven that rolls the ingredients around. its not bad, but its not fry

Still a bit steep for my liking, don't really want to drop the cash without being able to try it out

  • No offense to the product which I'm sure does it's intended purpose well but do people really need these rediculous gadgets.

This seems like it's in the same vien as margaretaville or a baby food processor, it does the job ever so slightly more efficiently but after a couple of weeks it holds dust just as well as last years latest gadget.

Thing is..lots of us (especially here on OZBargain) have too many eneloops and USB drives purely because of that. Lol. As long as its a bargain I don't think many people really think about practicality.

If this was say $40 instead of $229 I bet you lots of people would just buy one cause it's cheap and they can see themselves using it one day…guess more people think its better in storage for you to use when/if the time comes than have nothing lol.

Or you can be like some of us who wait for others to buy things like this…use it once..then later sell it at a garage sale for peanuts to clear space. :p

  • A chip cannot taste good without being deep fried no matter what gimmick you try. Trying to make a healthy chip is folly.

    • true that, like the diff between normal pepsi and pepsi max, if you want a pepsi have a freaking pepsi!
but alas the max has grown on me and now days if I ever reach for a pepsi it always a max, not as sugray high good but still 95% there.

      • I truly love the irony of being offered pepsi max at KFC, atleast a Pepsi max in conjunction with a low fat chip fryer will deliver 75% of the taste for far less fat/sugar.

I prefer the taste of Pepsi Max over normal Pepsi, same as Diet Coke over the norm.

I am a horrible human being.

  • So this is pretty much like a mini oven?
