    that's a funny looking camera

  • This is a prime candidate for an ebike conversion! Save on petrol and start commuting with this bike. Now that's a real ozbargain

Or don't convert it and just use it as is.

Most ebike conversion kits are frankly crap. You're better off spending the thousand dollars you'd spend on a bolt-on motor and get an ebike worth around 2500 bucks. That can get you something pretty decent with a shimano or Bosch mid-drive these days.

      • I agree that getting a prebuilt ebike is a far superior option, but I can't find any Bosch mid-drive bikes around $2500. They all seem to be at least $1000 more than that. I'm really keen to get one around the $2500 price - do you know of any that are sold new at that price?

In my experience Giant bikes almost always have the best specs for the price compared with Trek/Specialized etc., so IMHO this is a pretty decent deal if this is the kind of bike you want.

This seems like a great option as a commuter bicycle due to the wide tyres, pannier racks, flat handlebar, disc brakes, and aluminium frame.

I googled and found this product review

  • Love the Giant Roam / Fastroad series for leisure riding, normally Giant specs are good, bang for the buck (vs. Specialized, Trek, Merida, Avanti sometimes are good as well).

  • Guys how does this compare with Giant Roam 3 and 4 for courier and food delivery work? Also I would be using it for occasional weekend cycling on light trails.
