  • How many goes do I get with this one?

    • +5

100ml foam with 900ml of water. I'll generally get 2 cars out of that, so 30-40 cars from 2L

      • +2

        30-40 cars from 2L

        user name checks out…

        • +9

How many do you do? And we're not talking weetbix here
          Roughly 50ml per car, 2000ml….

        • I'll generally get 2 cars out of that

          Math checks out too

      • +1

Your cars must be small, my SUV needs at least 75ml to get a proper snow cover

        • +2

Averages out for very small/large cars. I could do an Amarok and A45 out of one mix.
Can also do a Commodore size sedan twice from one mix.

          • +1

@whitelie: First half goes quickly. Second half lasts longer. Especially the last 10%, kinda like a tube of toothpaste.

      • +5

        fck me sideways.

I have been using the concentrate directly in the canon and was wondering how quickly I go through the whole bottle and was wondering how the rest of you afford it.
        hence reiterating, fck me sideways.

        • +1

Must come out thick af lol
          Should read the instructions ;)

        • +3

Ah so you're the guy who invented foam parties.

    • 100ml foam with 900ml of water.
I'll generally get 1 car for 0.75L of that solution. So 75ml of soap per wash, per car for me.
I've tried to use less but it's just too thin and drips down too quickly

  • +2

Who gives themselves their own snow job? 😅

    • +10

I love giving my sti a snow job!

      • +6

that's probably the reason you have an sti in the first place

  • +2

Bought 5. I need a snow cannon now.

    • Anyone know where you can get a decent snow cannon?

      • +2

I think the MJCC ones are the best.
Bowden's service is the best though, if it stops working, send it in. They'll fully service it and return it free.

      • +3

I got one of the $20~ ones off eBay a few years ago, it works great, made of brass not plastic. Seems to be the same as the $99 Bowden's type ones sold at Supercheap/Repco.

      • +1

Whatever you do, I'd stay away from the Bowdens one. It's crap with terrible spread.

  • +1

In winter I normally wash my car every couple of weeks, cant have enough of this stuff, got 1.

    • +2

      Rain = Nature's car wash?

      • +1

        Cries in hard water

      • +3

no, your car got more mud/dust sticks to it after driving in the rain

        • My car is from 1995. I'm not super fussed about how it looks :D

  • +3

They must be reading to release the new formula. I think several of their products are receiving updates soon, which explains why they are all going on clearance.

    • +1

thats what I was thinking, $24 is still a good price, might grab one as they are normally $50+

    • New formula has been out for a while. On the bottle such as these Repco ones where it has the "Nano Polymers" badge, it has "New Version" instead as per the Bowden's product page.
Can't say I noticed a difference between them though

      • ok, good pick up, i haven't noticed, but if its similar ,and I'm happy with the ''old'' formula , $24 is a steal !!

      • Nah there is a ‘new new’ version coming out, not the one that was released years ago.

Its expected to be out in the next few months, they did a trial of it in the ‘snow foam party pack’.

  • Do these keep well? worth getting 2?

    • +2

      Yes, it's a stable compound.

  • +2

Is this worth it over the 5L Eclipse for $17.60?

    https://www.repco.com.au/en/car-care-panel/car-care/car-wash…

    • +3

If I remember correctly, and please correct me if I'm wrong, the eclipse one isn't PH neutral, which isn't great if you have coatings and/or waxes on your car. Bowdens one is definitely PH neutral.

This product would be good however for someone who regularly goes off-roading, would help break down the dirt alot.

  • I've been using CT18 with a bowden blower, seems to do a good job.
But i do drive a POS, that gets a wash probalby 4 times a year so yea. ;p

  • +1

Damn, not the kind of snow I was looking for :(

  • I've used the old version (not sure if this is it), the foam quality was very poor, very minimal foaming and doesn't stick to the car very well. I ended up switching to autoglym polar blast and that was fantastic compared to this.
Even at 25 I don't think it's worth it. I heard the new version is a lot better.

  • I bought one from last sale at $32. Does anyone know Repco return policy?

    • +8

Its 8 bucks.. just let it go

      • +2

Are you going to handover your Ozbargain badge or should I take it?

        • +3

You'll spend $8 or more in fuel alone travelling to Repco and back.

          • @Evanlet: Actually managed to price match with SCA and realised they do price beat. Ordered multiple items so free delivery 😊

            • @ashftc: Good job mate! I was thinking about doing this but i wanted a couple of eclipse that are Repco exclusive so just sucked it up and bought from Repco.

Just so that I can a little more about how much I could have saved, what prices did they give you? Sca?

              • +1

@lordra: I bought snow job, leather love and naked glass. I believe they gave an extra 50-70 cents. My cart was like $100 wo free shipping actually else it’s $5 😊

                • +1

@ashftc: Yea, it's the free shipping that's the real deal while going with sca.
Have an ozbargain star for going above and beyond!

  • Great after a massage

  • Even if this product is to be cleared for the new formula… Is the new one worth twice as much?
P.s. Adding to the already 5L I still have in the garage! 🤣

    • +2

New formula was introduced at the end of 2018.

It’s easy to identify the new formula in two ways: we recently added a new blue shield on the front lower right of the bottle, replacing the green one, and it of course says “New Version” on it. The very first batch was made last September and it still used the original label. To see if you have one of these, just look on the lower back of the bottle for the batch number. If this number is above (B)104600, it’s the new gear.

      • Yeah, apart from one empty I have sitting there, they're all the 'new version'.
I thought I'd read at some point they were going to make it thicker again… like the Yellow.

  • +1

Should be able to combine with 20% off clearance https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/714010

    • +2

      It's already combined.

  • +1

    Thanks picked one up.

  • Disappointed to see so many have blown their foam early. I just bought 5l of caravan cleaner from Aldi and a cheap foamer from Ali. Nano particles my ass.

  • Does this even do anything? I imagine 99% of the cleaning comes from pressure washing your car, rather than the foam sticking to it and doing anything.

    • +1

Snow foams work a bit like soaking your dishes in the sink when they covered in baked on crud. It gives the surfactants time to soften and dissolve the dirt/bug guts/bird poo etc before you rinse it off. Then you can do a hand wash knowing you have removed a lot of the abrasive particles stuck to your paint that would have caused marring.

    • I like using it to get more soap on the car for less friction and less chance of swirls

  • CT18 Superfoam works well too. I can't see any difference between it and the Bowdens. When Supercheap have 25% off you can get 5L of it for $40

  • Will SCA price match clearance product?

    • Jump on SCA online chat and ask.
Might be able to in store. Depends how keen they are to sell. Best I've paid previously from SCA is $38 for the 2 litres

    • +1

Yes they do. I did for snow job, leather love and naked glass.

      • Yes got it price matched via chat but there is no stock nearby. Delivery will make it expensive than Repco lol

        • I wanted a lot of stuff and delivery was free over $100 😊

        • Just do a c&c if you have a mate near the store?

  • Has anyone used a foam gun with a regular hose instead of pressure washer?
I have a pressure washer but it's a big petrol thing with 20m hose and way too much effort/overkill to drag out for car washing so I just use a regular hose and sprayer.

    • Use the petrol pressure washer for maximum foam!!!
I have a cheap Gerni and want to upgrade to a better model/higher pressure/more LPM

The 5 metre hose means I have to move everything during the wash continuously. (Gerni/water delivery hose/Gerni hose)

20m hose would be great. Just move PW hose the round the car, do the complete car without moving anything. Sounds like you've got a perfect set up

      • The 20m hose is actually a nightmare. It's not on a reel so is a pain to store anywhere, it can wrap around the machine but it's steel re-enforced so really difficult to bend and takes ages to unravel and wrap again (1st world problem, I know).

It's awesome for pathways and the roof, just a bit much for a quick car wash.

If I had my time again I'd go a 10m hose, with another 10m extension for doing the house roof.

    • Yes, of course you can use a foam cannon with a normal hose. Of course it won't LOOK or feel like thick snowy foam, but yes, you can. Just need to right attachment.

  • +2

    Thanks grabbed one today.
Also grabbed a 1L Happy Ending which should retail for $62.99. Shelf had wrong price tag at $35, + additional 20% off for autoclub members, so $28 for 1L. They realised the error when it scanned at full price, and then they had to honour the shelf error and the discount. They weren't happy. Good win for Ozbargain.

    • +1

Quantity of 1. Minimum 10 required for OzB post.

Well done. Rest of us are salty though….
