Need Advice: Best 65" TV under $1500

Hi, I've been following a lot of threads but not able to come to a conclusion on a TV which is perfect for me <$1500 (At all costs)

This living room TV will mostly be used for movies and TV shows (1080P streaming). Viewing distance is 2.8m which makes me think best I can go for 65"

At the moment, the TVs I've shortlisted are

Hisense U8G:$1295 - Good ratings on Rting but I've heard Aus versions are generally bad.
Sony X75K - $1500 - Very Less idea
Samsung Q60B - $1124 - Seems alright, but can be better
Samsung Frame(55) : $1500 - Could be a feature on the wall with all artsy gimmick
Samsung Q80B (55) - $1499:I can downsize if it means a good TV.

I'm quite keen on 2022 Samsung TV as it has got Xbox app inbuilt which is something I can look forward to for casual gaming.

I would highly appreciate if there are other great suggestions, I'm personally not that much inclined towards the likes of Kogan, Falcon, etc.

I have had the U7G since March - I like it alot. I would have purchased the U8G back then but I didn't have the $$$.

In my local JB Hifi to me the A7G looked too grey/didn't have enough contrast to do good blacks.

The U7G was in between and good enough but the U8G did look better side by side with those two TV's.

Frankly in my humble opinion the U8G looked just as good as any of the other LCD TV's in store but clearly wasn't up to OLED performance.

The UI of the U7G is snappy, I assume the same performance in the U8G.

The only downside is that not being Android it doesn't have the selection of apps. Also I use a Harmony remote but this doesn't seem to be able to control the TV nor learn its original remote which was a disappointment/inconvenience.

Lucky you. The new JB Hifi catalogue is TV centric.

I think it may be or it could be another newbie TV post with similar posting technique / layout.

    • Haha, no, just a new confused guy stranded in a sea of TV's

Go into JB HiFi and look at them to see which one you like first and then come back with a smaller list.

    • Thank you. Will do!

I got this TV in January when they had a sale for a thousand bucks & 2 extra years warranty (total 5 years)
    https://www.betta.com.au/chiq-4k-uhd-led-android-tv-65-81844…
It is now on sale for $875. The only thing I didn't like is the brain, it is a little slow, apart from that, it is perfect - picture & sound are grouse; but I run my sound through Polk S60's via a Yamaha amp :)

It is cheap as it is a run out sale as it is being taken over by this TV for $1195 - CHIQ 65-INCH UHD 4K QLED ANDROID TV

I was in Jaycar once & I could not stop looking at this TV, it was by Chic; I said I was going to get 1 one day; I also have a mini freezer by them as well. Chic have a tech you can ring up in Oz, so if you have any questions or got ant trouble with it, it is all done local in Oz

    Here's 2 Chic 65" TV's to compare
    https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/filter/consumer-electron…
Appliances online have this extra 2 years warranty on top of the 3 years already if you register before the end of this month, maybe Betta has it too, you can find out if you use them; it works on selected models, AO has a better list of Chic TV's as to which ones are the ones that can have an extre 2 years warranty. I thought, it can't be that bad if it comes with a 3 year warranty, then they give an extra 5 years with it; how much is Samsung? 1? 2? I spit on their warrany

    • Thank you, I will do some more research into chiq tvs

  • What TV did u get?
