$154 for the Silver, 1pack - Amazon Basics Premium Single Monitor Stand - Lift Engine Arm Mount, Aluminum - Silver

Been having these in my cart for quite some time when I was looking for monitor arms and bought the Ergotron HX and LX.

These are very popular and often out of stock. From what I read online they basically are the Ergotron LX but with Amazon brand.

Comes with 1yr warranty with Amazon instead of 10 with Ergotron but only half of the price.

Price History at C CamelCamelCamel.

    Seems expensive.

I paid around $70 for a 2 arm monitor stand from Amazon.

    • But was it premium?

      • No, I got the pro-duo

    • It is if you're comparing with the cheap ones.

      • +2

        the cheap ones.

I think that was the point of my comment…

    • This more a heavy duty for large monitors

      • I have 2 x 27" monitors on mine and they wouldn't budge in an earthquake…

        • I have a 34" that I struggle to find any stands that support the weight as it's 11kg

          • @asa79: This won't work for you then.

It is only recommended for 32" or smaller, which is the same as my monitor arms.

          • @asa79: I got the North Bayou H100 Monitor Stand last year (popular with OzBargainers) for about $55, it's even cheaper at the moment.
I have a 34" Xiaomi curved and the stand is very solid, so I don't see the point in spending more $.

What exactly are you getting over something like this for a fraction of the price?

    • +3

Bragging rights and moral high ground that its producing zero emissions while you use it.

    • I have the (identical) Ergotron LX tall pole model. Stacked 2 arms to the one pole, each to one monitor (2 monitor set up). You can't with the model you've linked.

    • If it's anything like the Ergotron LX which i own then the one you linked which i owned before the LX is much less stable meaning the monitor will bob around with even a slight bump of the desk/table while my LX is solid and stable.

I've bought 5 of the H80's for work and one of the F160 at home and I've never had any issues with any of them, as for wobbling I mean it's not perfect but it's definitely not terrible but I also don't slam my desk daily

        • Monitor size/weight probably plays a part in this. What size/weight are your monitors?

      • What monitor are you using?

      • My whole office is running 32" 1440p monitors on North Bayou F100's and F195's with no noticeable desk wobble.

    • +1

The biggest improvement for me is that my monitor doesn't sag anymore and I can tilt the monitor anytime if I want to.

With my previous model which is the NB F80 (updated version), I had to tight up the bolt so the monitor stays the angle that I want without sagging however that means you can't tilt it when you need to, the monitor still sagged after short period… and it was so much effort to adjust that again.

      • I have two F80's holding up my S2721DGF's. Never had any sagging - they've stayed in position for the past 12 months.

Maybe having heavier 32" would take more of a toll?

        • I am using a 34" UW which is around 6kg, but even that it is still well under what the spec claims.

Probably something to do with the position of the Visa mount on the back, some could be lower and make it harder to hold up.

          • @davidl820: assuming you have curved monitor - that also plays a role.

eg. the G9 requires a heavy duty pivot for the HX.

    • As someone who has the one you linked I wished I had bought another one because the cheaper ones require you to fold the arms back onto itself so it stick's out the side/back of your table by around 30cm.

More expensive ones I've used in the office doesn't have this issue because the arms aren't positioned diagonally from the base and are positioned vertically.

stick's out the side/back of your table by around 30cm.

Mine are basically flush with the wall - I have them setup sideways kinda like this

  • for 269 bucks for one arm it better be good.

    • It's for 2.

      • Ohh! that different then :D

    • $269 for two arms.

It looks like it's a 2 pack, though ~135ea for a single arm is still relatively pricey

I bought this before, like almost 7 years ago via Amazon US direct, cost me USD 121.23 shipped, 1-pack though. So to get this from within Australia is not bad but you had to get two packs though in this deal.
