  • Would recommend this brand. Recently bought my second frame from them. Always getting good service and top quality product.

  • Using one now and would also recommend!

Note the desks in the post are single motor, not dual motor.

Written from my dual motor Zen Space Desk.

    • Could you clarify how dual and single motors change the desk?

      • +2

Single motor means only one leg drives up and down, the other is not driven and moves up and down via the force from the other leg.

Dual motor means one in each leg, so in theory it moves in a much more balanced way as both sides of the desk are being pushed up. Typically this means the weight loading of the desk can be higher, and it is more stable during movement.

      • Dual motor setups are often regarded as better than single motor setups as dual motor setups tend to be quieter in operation, faster to raise/lower the desk and afford higher lift capacity.

That said, not all desk motors are created equal.

I use outrageously expensive dual-motor desks at work and have two single-motor desks at home (his and hers). The home desks (JasonL Just Right and OTTO Newhaven) offer the nicest overall user experience IMHO. The 60-80kg capacity of the home desks is oodles for me (they are NOT used as a forklift or fairground ride attraction) vs 120kg capacity for the ones at work (some of which have 6-up tiled monitor setups.

        • Thanks for the support Domingo! Correct in what you're saying. These single desks use a driveshaft that drives the second leg from the first leg.

The Pro series (dual) is 140kg, 10 Year Warranty "Commercial Grade" product and our best seller.

The Zen One uses the same proven motor that we've worked with for 10 years however as there is one and we've only had the product in the market for 3 Years we offer a 3 Year Warranty on the single motor with a max 80kg lifting capacity.

          Hope this helps!

        • Hi OzDJ_ what brand is the expensive desk you use at work? Do you know what are the best high end desks?

Are Steelcase motorised desks any good? Thanks.

          • +1

            @Jimmoze: Check this comment for some good info on higher end desks;
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11343134/redir

          • @Jimmoze: They have a variety of desks across our various buildings and floors. But there seems to be four main brands in use:

            Motiondesk
            UpDown Desk
            Steelcase
            BEAN (mostly the BEAN 1500)

            • @[Deactivated]: Thanks for the information. The UpDown Pro Desk looks awesome. I'm assuming that's the most expensive.

              If only I didn't have a steelcase!

              • @Jimmoze: Yeah - I have no idea what the fitout would have cost. You probably get some sort of discount when you buy 5000+ desks 🤣

Any chance of some deals on dual motor, frame only?

    • +1

For sure, jump on our livechat and mention your OzBargain name and we'll send you a code

      • Was hoping this included Dual Motor / Zen Pro range too…

This live chat thing you mentioned, is it just the same as the pop up for $100 off via email sign up?

(yes, I know certain offers can't be combined)..

Really close to buying an Idasen from Ikea, but my budget doesn't stretch to the electric version.

        • +1

Hit us on livechat and we'll find something suitable for you. There is $150 off running on some other desks as well at the moment. You'll love the Zen Space Desk.

          • +2

@LBSqrd: Was interested in dual motor (Zen Pro), hit up the live chat and got offered a massive discount of additional $5. What a let down…

          • +1

@LBSqrd: If you think $150 off an overpriced desk ($999) is going to impress anyone on Ozbargain, then you aren't on the right website.

Similarly, if you think your desks at the same price point as an Idasen (with Danish Actuators) is a good comparison, you are in more strife than I first thought.

I'll help you out: I'm not interested in a Chinese knock off at the same price as the European made options (referring to the moving parts, Linak vs Jiecang)

            • +3

              @nismo: Appreciate your feedback!

We aren't trying to promote $150 off on the commercial range, we're discussing the Zen One and its savings.

              • -1

@LBSqrd: That's ok, but I said I was looking at the Idasen and generally Dual Motor options which is directly related to this string of messages, you then suggested hitting up live chat?

What do you think they (chat) can offer me that is relevant to what I am after?

You are promoting the Zen Pro in the comments, its like an Easter Egg or something :D

            • +1

@nismo: Some awesome info there! Thanks! I nerded out for almost an hour into a reading rabbit hole lol

I would totally get one of those instead of the $309 Zen One with black table top for now, if I am not also buying a new phone and replacing my car side mirror (ouch)
The IKEA Idasen looks good and price is reasonable but the table top is "Particle- and fibreboard with honeycomb paper filling (100% recycled paper)" which sounds a bit strange.
I would love one of those desk in the link of that comment, with bamboo or oak.

        • is it just the same as the pop up for $100 off via email sign up?

          no pop ups …

          • +1

@GlobalWorming: $100 off not running at current / won't work with the $300 off 'Sale Price'.

          • +1

@GlobalWorming: Yeah, it was there at 1.52pm & disappeared shortly after this promo kicked off. I assumed it wouldn't stack with sale items anyway.

  • For the Zen One, what size is being shown in the pictures on the listing page?
    Thanks guys

    • Gorney, image on this link it shows the 1200mm size, the product page will change sizing as per the size you select.

      Hope this helps

      • Awesome thanks guys!

  • Any deals on Zen Pro Bamboo Sit Stand Desk Medium Size Grey Colour ?

    • A code will auto apply. Currently $150 off as well.
Sorry this post only mentioned the Zen One Sale

  • I like the look of the Zen Pro Expert 2.0.
Would this be Dual motor and can anyone comment that has one (or a possible alternative)?

    • Yes this is dual motor.

Omni's version would be the closest high quality and similar item.

  • Does the Zen Pro White Melamine Sit Stand Desk use the same width-adjustable Zen Pro Stand Up Frame Kit?

    • +1

Zen Pro uses an adjustable in width and height frame. That is a dual motor system.

The Zen One is the same desktop, however cheaper Zen One Lifting System which is the single motor lifting system.

  • Just wondering which suburb your Brisbane warehouse is in? Couldn't find the info on your site. Thanks.

    • Lytton or Murarrie.. In that area anyway.

My wife got a bamboo 1800mm Zen Pro earlier this year, I built it and it’s a really nice desk. I’ve been envious ever since. But even at $900 is a bit of money for a desk. Anyway she uses it daily so will be worth it.

    • She told me how good it is, say hello from me!

Purchased I think an older pro series frame kit back in 2018. Still going strong. Great support from LB.

I even had a question a year later regarding the touch panel and automatic hight re-adjustment. Quick response, great after sales support.

Highly recommend my purchased product and support. I'm always willing to pay a bit more for better customer support.

    • Thanks Kunfushun - will pass onto LB. Glad you're enjoying the desk!

  • Just ordered the dual motor 1800x750 white which is on sale. Fingers crossed its good

  • Set up my single motor Gaming desk and I'm highly impressed by the quality, especially for the price. Recommended!

  • Its crazy that the top going from 120 to 150 to 180 adds $100 each size upgrade! Surely it doesn't cost $200 to add 60cm longer bit of melamine!
